Deceased Animal Removal
Removal of dead animals from City right of way or swales please contact the Department of Public Works at 954.967.4526. Removal of dead animals from private property is the responsibility of the property owner.

Sick or Injured Animals
Please contact Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division at 954.359.1313 or the Hollywood Police Department non-emergency number at 954.967.HELP (4357). After business hours (5 p.m. – 8 a.m.) please contact the Broward County Sheriff Office at 954.765.5124.

For Sick, Injured or Orphaned Wildlife

Please contact the South Florida Wildlife Center (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) at 954.524.4302.

Street Light Outages
To report a problem with a street light, please call 954.967.4526 and provide the light location and issue. If possible, include the number printed on the front of the street light column.

Garbage and Recycling
Public Works also oversees residential & commercial garbage and recycling collection services, bulk & yard waste collections and the Operation Paintbrush Paint Distribution Program. More information on garbage and recycling services

Each divisions is tasked with administering multiple programs that fall within their specialty.

Paint Giveaway Program

Operation Paint Brush logo 100% of the latex paint collected through the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is recycled into new, high-quality exterior paint which is then provided to residents, non-profit organizations and participating cities at no cost.

The Operation Paintbrush Program in Hollywood provides up to 20 gallons of the high-quality exterior latex paint for free to single-family homeowners in Hollywood. Paint is available in Hollywood the second Saturday during the months of January, April, July and October. Paint can be picked-up at the Department of Public Works, 1600 S. Park Road in Hollywood from 8 a.m. until noon. Distribution is on a first come, first served basis while the City's supply lasts.

To participate, you must provide your current driver’s license with Hollywood address and a current utility bill as proof of Hollywood residency. The paint colors offered are off white, beige, terracotta, gray, and turquoise. Please contact the Department of Public Works at 954.967.4526 for additional information on the program.

Please Note:

1600 S. Park Road is not a paint drop-off site. You must dispose of your old paint at the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Residential Drop Off Facility, 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard. The facility is open on Saturday's from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
