National Night Out

Hollywood Neighborhoods to Take Part in

“America’s Night Out Against Crime”

National Night Out Brings Neighbors Together

Each year more than a dozen Hollywood neighborhoods host National Night Out events to send a message to criminals that they’re organized and crime isn’t welcome in their neighborhoods. Hollywood Police Officers, Command Staff members, City Officials and Crime Prevention Specialists make stops at these neighborhood gatherings to meet residents and answer questions. National Night Out is a free event filled with activities, refreshments, food and neighbors.

The first National Night Out was organized by the National Association of Town Watch in 1984 on the first Tuesday in August to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
