Responsibilities & Services


The Office of the City Attorney is the primary provider of legal services to the City and is responsible for rendering legal interpretations of state and federal laws and City Codes to the City Commission, City Manager, and staff.

Assistant City Attorneys provide legal counsel to most of the City’s Advisory Boards. The Office of the City Attorney represents the best interests of the City in court actions, whether the action is initiated by the City or brought against the City.
