Participate in Daylight Hour

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

June 21st is not only known as the first day of summer it’s also known as the “Summer Solstice” which is the longest day and the shortest night of 2017 in the Northern Hemisphere. The length of the daylight all depends on your latitude - the higher the latitude, the longer the daylight. In Hollywood, we’ll have roughly 13 hours and 46 minutes of daylight. Take advantage of the extra sunlight and join us in observing “Daylight Hour”. Participation in “Daylight Hour” is easy, between the hours of noon and 1P simply turn off your lights and work using only sunlight. If you work in a windowless space, schedule your activities to take place in a sunlit area for the hour. Be sure to share your photos on the City's social media channels and tag it #seenbeinggreen!
