Broward County Hurricane Preparedness Open House

Broward County will host its 5th Annual Hurricane Preparedness Open House on Saturday, June 1st at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This one-day free community event will be a family-friendly event with demonstrations, preparedness information from emergency management experts, exhibits and free snacks, while supplies last. Residents will have the opportunity to enroll in the Vulnerable Population Registry and other services for those at risk as well as sign-up for “ALERT! Broward” receive emergency alerts and notifications. The Hurricane Preparedness Open House bring together dozens of County agencies, service providers and featured activities for adults and children including, but not limited to: • Meeting BSO search and rescue dogs • Learning about FPL’s tree trimming role vs. the homeowner • Exploring emergency vehicles • Raffle drawings and giveaways
