[ARCHIVED] Information Regarding Food & Ice Distributions Taking Place in Hollywood

Recovery

Ready-made boxes of emergency staple food are available at the Red Cross, 2501 SE 32 Terrace in Pembroke Park. Food is pre-packaged and the amount available varies depending upon household size. Drinking water and heat-a-meals are available at the Red Cross, 600 NE 3rd Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. These items are available at Red Cross until approximately 6:00 p.m. today (Friday, September 15th) and they will be available again tomorrow (Saturday, September 16th).

A cookout is planned for this evening (Friday, September 15th) at 6:00 p.m. at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street in Hollywood, and again tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in the vicinity of 67th Terrace and Thomas Street. This is an opportunity for a hot meal and a chance to cool down in the air conditioning at the Community Center.

Drinking water and ice will be available at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16th. The ice is suitable only for cooling purposes, not consumption, and recipients will need to supply their own container because it is not bagged. The water and ice are being supplied by the Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale campuses of Calvary Chapel and volunteers from Calvary will be on hand to assist with distribution at the community center and in the neighborhood.

An ice distribution will also be taking place on Saturday at 10A at Fresco y Más, 6775 Taft Street in Hollywood. Fresco y Más, in partnership with Sanderson Farms, is offering residents up to a 40 lb. box of ice for free while supplies last.
