Hurricane Irma storm debris removal continues to take place in the City of Hollywood. The City’s Debris Management Contractors have a total of 31 hauling units currently operating within the City. In addition, there are currently 4 bucket trucks deployed with those crews assigned to remove hanging limbs and leaning trees.

Here is what you need to know to help speed recovery:

GARBAGE:

The City’s garbage contractor, WastePro, continues on the normal garbage collection schedule. Gray garbage carts should be placed out in front of your property, even if you have an alleyway. Garbage collections will take place curbside until further notice. If you have garbage bags that do not fit in your gray garbage carts, please place them on the curbside next to your cart and they will be collected as a courtesy.

RECYCLING:

Normal recycling collections resumed on Monday, September 25th. Blue recycling carts should also be placed out in front of your property for collection on your normal collection day. Please place only recyclable material in your blue recycling cart. If you have more recyclables than will fit in your cart, please bag them and place the bag on top of your cart or next to your cart for collection this week.

COMMINGLED:

Normal commingled collections for household items such as hard junk, furniture and mattresses are suspended until further notice. Residents are being asked to refrain from placing these items out until collections resume.

STORM DEBRIS:

Residents are asked to separate tree limbs, palm fronds and other vegetation from construction or bulky items damaged in the storm. Storm damaged items, such as downed fencing, carpet or household items should be placed in a separate pile away from vegetation.
