[ARCHIVED] Talented 10th Poetry Slam

Talented 10th Poetry Slam Competition

In celebration of African American History Month during the month of February, the City of Hollywood African American Advisory Council, in coordination with Barry University Center for Community Service Initiatives and Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc. will be hosting a two night event to include a panel discussion and presentation on “African Americans and the Vote” and the “4th Annual Talented 10th Poetry Slam” spoken word competition.

The “African Americans and the Vote” Panel Discussion and Presentation will be held on Tuesday, February 11th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Boulevard, Room 219. 

On Tuesday February 25th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. is the “4th Annual Talented 10th Poetry Slam” spoken word competition. Poems are now being accepted for the slam with first place winner receiving an “iPad Mini” the second place winner receiving a “Samsung Tablet” and the third place winner will receive a “Kindle Tablet” courtesy of Liberia Economic and Social Development, Inc. and AT&T Pioneers.
