Emergency Orders

State, county, and local officials have issued orders regulating the operation of various businesses, services and facilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below are links to the orders issued by the State, County and City of Hollywood. These orders define services and activities, as well as the health and safety precautions that must be followed to protect both workers and the general public.

Countywide Curfew

Broward County issued Emergency Order 20-22  that implements new restrictions to help prevent large social gatherings, house parties, street parties and other activities that are contributing to the community spread of the virus.   The order issued July 17, 2020, establishes a county-wide curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day and also contains new restrictions on private gatherings, vacation rentals, restaurants, and gyms and fitness centers.

Here is a summary of Emergency Order 20-22, for more information please read the complete order and all attachments:

Curfew – Effective July 17, 2020 at 11PM and until August 1,
2020, all of Broward County is under a curfew from 11PM to 5AM. Exemptions tothe curfew include: active duty police, fire rescue, first responders, news
media, delivery or transportation drivers, government employees, personsseeking emergency medical care and medical, health care and utility service
personnel. Also exempt are individuals traveling to and from their place ofemployment, returning to their homes after commercial travel, and persons
walking their pets within 250 feet of their residence.

Private Gatherings – Effective immediately, privategatherings at a residential property, single-family or otherwise, indoors
and/or outdoors, are limited to no more than 10 individuals. Persons present atsuch gatherings shall be individually liable for violations of this Order and
subject to civil and criminal penalties. The owner(s) of the residentialproperty are also liable for violations that occur on their property, whether
or not they are in residence or on site at the time of the violation. Residentsof any private residential property, whether they own or rent, must ensure all
persons on their property comply with the guidelines, subject to civil andcriminal penalties. 

Vacation Rentals – Short-term vacation rentals that are not
actively managed by on-site owners or on-site management companies withstaffing or security on site 24 hours a day to enforce compliance with all the
requirements, are not permitted to operate, effective for check-ins commencingon or after July 20, 2020 through August 20, 2020.

Restaurant Operations –
Ordering food or beverage from a bar counter is strictly prohibited.Effective immediately, restaurant patrons must order and consume food and
drinks at a table, following all other requirements as outlined in previouslyissued operating guidelines.

Gym and Fitness Center Operations – Effective immediately,
all persons shall wear a facial covering at all times while using or visiting agym or fitness center, including while exercising.

Signage Requirements – Effective July 20, 2020 at 12:01AM,
owners, operators and landlords of commercial property at which any retail,restaurant or food establishment is located must ensure compliance by those
establishments with the signage requirements of Emergency Order 20-17, and mustalso ensure the required signage is conspicuously posted in common areas of the
property such as mall entrances, food courts and hallways.  

The City of Hollywood is requiring the wearing of facial coverings anytime an individual is outside the boundaries of their residential property or in common areas of multi-family residential properties (see Hollywood EO 2020-06). In addition, Broward County  Emergency Order 20-20 and Emergency Order 20-21 regulate facial coverings and restrict business operations. City Services

City Services Available Online - There is currently no public access to City Hall and several other City facilities.  The City encourages customers to utilize the many services currently offered online. Learn more here.

Important Notice Regarding Impacts to Solid Waste, Recycling and Commingled Collections

City of Hollywood solid waste and commingled collections vendor, Waste Pro USA, has been heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Several WastePro crew members have tested positive for COVID-19 and have been under quarantine, which has resulted in service impacts City-wide. Until further notice, customers may experience temporary delays in recycling and commingled (Bulk & Yard Waste) collections.

The City of Hollywood Department of Public Works would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding during these unusual circumstances. Staff will continue to monitor the situation as they work to ensure service collections, with their primary focus on weekly garbage collections. This focus is to maintain the health, safety and sanitation of our community.

Based on the impacts of COVID-19, in the near future, the City may need to suspend services such as recycling and commingled collection. If staffing level impacts necessitate a reduction in services, residents will be notified via the City’s website at www.HollywoodFL.org, on the City’s social media sites and through the Notify Me “News and Announcements” alerts. Due to the indiscriminate and deadly nature of the virus, and its ease of community spread, special attention to the health and safety of crew members and our community is paramount. Hollywood Beach Open with Restrictions

All beaches in Broward County, including Hollywood Beach, are now open under Broward County Emergency Order 20-14PDF. All persons using the beaches in Broward must comply with the requirements in place. Failure to comply with the requirements may result in penalties (civil or criminal) for violators and require beaches in Broward County be re-closed.  The City shall apply and enforce all restrictions pertaining to Hollywood Beach as set forth in Broward County Emergency Order 20-14 and Attachment 15 - Beaches In Broward County Limited Reopening GuidelinesPDF.  Additionally, the City of Hollywood has issued Hollywood Emergency Order 2020-06 requiring the wearing of facial coverings anytime an individual is outside their private residence (see the order for permitted exceptions).

Beaches in Broward County Limited Reopening Guidelines

Ocean activities (such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, body surfing) and limited land based active recreation and exercise (such as walking, running, biking and surf fishing) are permitted on beaches in Broward County. Picnicking, sunbathing, sitting, lying on beach, as well as the use of umbrellas, canopies, chairs, loungers, and coolers are also permitted.

Beach Restrictions

1. Beach hours shall be limited to between sunrise and sunset. 
2. Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless engaged in exercise activity such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. If a distance of six feet is not possible, then masks must be worn even while exercising.  If individuals feel they cannot wear a mask while exercising, they should choose to exercise in a less crowded area. 3. All individuals must wear a facial covering while visiting the beach, unless exercising.  Facial coverings when not on, must be available and ready to use at all times.  Individuals must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years of age or by anyone with a medical/health condition which would be worsened by the wearing of a facial covering.
4. Disposable facial coverings and other disposable personal protective equipment such as gloves must be properly discarded, littering of facial coverings or other personal protective equipment is prohibited. 
5. No group gatherings or events of more than ten (10) individuals.
6. No group or organized sports, including, but not limited to, volleyball, soccer, or football.
7. Individuals must maintain a least six (6) feet of physical distance between persons at all times (other than members of the same household or group), including when in the water.
8. Buildings (other than restroom) or essential areas for social gathering (such as changing rooms, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, exercise equipment areas, etc.) must remain closed. 
9. Beach concessions must comply with the applicable requirements in Broward County Emergency Order 20-12, as amended, including Attachment 1 for all concessions, Attachment 2 for all restaurants or food establishment concessions, and Attachment 3 for retail concessions. 
10. Concessions or beachfront hotels that provide rental equipment (such as chairs, loungers, bicycles, etc.) must sanitize the rental equipment between each customer rental.
11. Beach restrooms and showers must be sanitized at least every 3 hours.
12. Municipalities shall have the ability to enact more stringent requirements than set forth herein, and as with all other aspects of this Emergency Order, municipalities are authorized to enforce the requirements of this Emergency Order.

Select City Parks and Recreational Facilities Open 

City leaders continue to monitor the scientific/medical data related to COVID-19 in our region. Those visiting parks and recreational facilities must follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Florida Department of Health as well as the requirements of State, County and Local Emergency Orders including, physical distancing of six feet minimum and wearing a facial covering at all times unless engaged in exercise such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. A facial covering must be available to show upon request by local authorities. Do not gather in groups of more than 10 individuals. Additional information on restrictions can be found here. Park and Facility patrons must not enter a park or recreational facility if they have COVID 19 symptoms or have been exposed within the past 14 days. No group gatherings or events at this time. Please bring your own water for yourself and your pets, water fountains are not available at this time.

Hollywood Broadwalk 

• The Broadwalk is open for exercising including walking, jogging and bike riding
• The Broadwalk is also open to access and patronize restaurants/food establishments and retailers
• Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless engaged in exercise activity such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn.
• No skateboarding
• Social distancing of at least 6 feet is required
• No groups larger than 10 people
• Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 a.m. bike riding will be prohibited on the Broadwalk from Tyler Street to Garfield Street to allow for Temporary Café Zone

 Soccer/Baseball Fields

The following fields are open for organized sports, so long as the activity is part of an established athletic league or part of and organized program. League or program must provide health guidelines to department prior to use. Permits are required.

Summer Camps

Participants will be required to follow these guidelines: 

• Shall not enter a recreational facility if they have COVID 19 symptoms or been exposed within the past 14 days
• Agree to temperature check prior to entering the facility
• Personal items will be discouraged, any medical or therapeutic items will be disinfected prior to entry
• Camps are designed to a 1 instructor to 9 camper ratios.
• Campers will stay in the same cohort groups each day
• Parents should discuss good hygiene practices with campers prior to attending
• Care has been taken to ensure campers have their own personal supplies for the duration of the camp
• No field trips at this time
• Additional sanitation procedures have been added to ensure a clean and safe environment based on national, state and local health agencies guidance 

Parks 

The following parks are open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for passive use only. Passive use includes walking, biking, running and individual enjoyment of the natural surroundings, unless otherwise noted below. No groups larger than 10 people, playground, or active organized team sports allowed. Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless engaged in exercise activity such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. No access to restrooms or water fountains.

Boat Ramps open to motor-powered craft only. One boat on a ramp at a time. Marina Boat Ramp returned to normal hours of operation, 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. as of Wednesday, May 27th.

Holland Park - 801 Johnson Street
Boat ramps open for normal operations. Observation Tower is now open. Please follow physical distancing requirements.

Ramp hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Once the parking area reach capacity, the ramps will be closed.)

Golf Courses 

• Golf courses at Hollywood Beach Golf Club, Eco Golf Club and Orangebrook Golf Club are open for play with restrictions. View restrictions by clicking here.
• The Driving Range at Orangebrook is open with limited capacity and physical distancing rules in place. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Sunday and Wednesday the hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Community Garden 

The Community Garden at Oak Lake requires anyone working in the garden to wear a mask.

ArtsPark Studio

No tours, lessons or private engagements at this time.

The ArtsPark Artists in Residence are accepting individual and groups of less than 10 for classes and instruction.

Hollywood Dog Beach (with permit only) 

Hollywood Dog Beach (the area of the beach between Pershing and Custer Streets) is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All users must have daily or six month pass. Patrons must follow physical distancing when in park. Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless engaged in exercise activity such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. Please bring your own water as water fountains are closed. Permits can be purchased at Dog Beach only during operations hours at this time. Credit cards only. Hollywood Dog Beach is only the area located between Pershing and Custer Streets on Hollywood Beach during designated days/times. 

Driftwood Community Pool

The Driftwood Community Pool, located at 3000 N 69th Avenue is now open for lap swimming and limited private swim lessons. 

• Only courses where instructor can teach outside of the water or maintain 6 ft. physical distance.
• Participants only inside facility.
• Professional courses CPR, AED, Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor.
• NO OPEN SWIM at this time.
• Physical distancing required at all times.
• Facial coverings must be worn outside of water.
• Temperature check for employees and patrons required before entry into facility.

Pavilion Rentals 

Pavilion rentals are available for only parties less than 10. Pavilions must be rented in advance, no walk up rentals allowed. Visitors must adhere to physical distancing and must wear facial cover at all times unless engaged in exercise activity such as walking, running, jogging, skating, bicycling, etc., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. Venues will be limited to 1 rental per day. Only pavilions listed below are available for rental. Rental times are 4 hours maximum. All other pavilions remain closed at this time. Please call 954.921.3404 to reserve a pavilion.

City of Hollywood Public Works crews unlock and sanitizes with 70% alcohol each morning. Between 11:00 a.m. and noon crews clean and sanitize again. In the afternoon the Community Redevelopment Agency third party vendor cleans every hour. They are also taking extra measures to sanitize each facility. The facilities are cleaned one last time before the doors are locked for the evening. The crews start that final cleaning and closing process at 9:00 p.m.

Free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site in West Hollywood

Florida Department of Health in Broward County, in partnership with the City of Hollywood, is hosting a free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site on Tuesday through Saturday at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street in West Hollywood from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

No appointment necessary. Those interested in securing a set day and time are encouraged to call 954.412.7300 to schedule an appointment.  

What Do I Need To Know In Order To Be Tested?

• Anyone can be tested regardless of age. Those under the age of 18 require parent or guardian consent.
• Anyone can be tested regardless of symptoms.
• Bring your appointment confirmation number with you, if you made an appointment.     

What Happens When I Arrive?

• Each individual will be greeted and directed by personnel in protective gear. 
• Each individual will be asked to provide their government issued ID, first and last name, health insurance card and contact information.

What is the Testing Process?

• A health professional in personal protective equipment will provide you with instructions. 
• A soft swab will be inserted into your nose or throat to get the necessary sample. This may be slightly uncomfortable; however, the test is quick and should take less than a minute.

What Happens After I Am Tested? 

• After you have been tested, you will be given information on what to do while awaiting test results. Please keep the instruction sheet until after you receive your results. 
• Follow signage and directions for exiting the testing site. 
• After being tested, continue to monitor and record symptoms. 
• You will receive your test results via telephone call.
