Free Gardening Class

Saturday, March 7
Join your neighbors to learn how to grow your own fruits and vegetables. Classes take place on the first and last Saturday of each month through September. The next classes will take place Saturday, March 7th at 10 a.m. at the Oak Lake Park Community Garden, 3190 N 56th Avenue in west Hollywood.

Space is limited and open to gardeners ages 16 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please RSVP your attendance by calling 954.921.3404.

Mayors' Chess Challenge

Join Mayors, elected officials and community leaders throughout the Broward County for free and friendly meet ups in support of scholastic chess! Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Low Cost Rabies Clinic
for Cats and Dogs

Broward County Animal Care and Adoption will host a low-cost Rabies Clinic events on Saturday, March 7th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brian Piccolo Park, 9501 Sheridan Street in Cooper City. The cost for a one-year rabies vaccination and Broward County Pet Registration Tag is: $25 if your pet is spayed or neutered or $35 if your pet is not spayed or neutered. Free microchips, which includes free registration, will also be available. A microchip is a permanent form of identification. Once the chip is registered, pets are safeguarded in case they become lost or stolen. If your pet has already received a current rabies vaccination and license tag, please bring a COPY of the Rabies Certificate with you to the event to receive the free microchip. You must be a Broward County resident to attend. No appointment necessary. First-come, first-served. Dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in carriers. No cash or checks please; only debit and credit cards will be accepted. More information.

Hollywood ArtsPark Experience: Marco Benevento

Enjoy a free concert featuring Marco Benevento, dubbed “one of the most talented keys players of our time” by CBS Radio. Benevento has released six critically acclaimed solo albums over the last decade, performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall and Newport Jazz to Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, and worked in the studio and on the road with a long list of musical innovators from the world of jazz, funk and groove. The concert will take place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at ArtsPark at Young Circle at 1 Young Circle in Downtown Hollywood. More information. 

Art at David Park 

Wednesday, March 11
Kids and teens can enjoy arts & crafts activities led by volunteers from South Broward High School's Honors Art Class. Art at David Park takes place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m at David Park Community Center, 108 N 33rd Court. This session's theme is  “Pointillism,”  a technique where distinct dots of color are applied in a pattern to form an image. For information, call 954.967.4236.

West Concert Series - Fabulons

The West Concert Series has returned to the Boulevard Heights Amphitheater. Dance to the oldies, jam to classic rock and sing along to county at the free concerts on select Saturday evenings February through April at the Boulevard Heights Community Center Amphitheater, located at 6770 Garfield Street in west Hollywood. Join us  Saturday, March 14th for the classic rock & oldies from the Fabulons. The free concert begins at 7:30 p.m. The concerts are fun for the whole family!
