Important Information About City Closures & Cancellations
Hollywood Beach
Effective 1:00 p.m. on March 16th, Hollywood Beach and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk were closed to the public for recreational use. Many businesses and restaurants on the barrier island and along the Broadwalk remain opened. Patrons can access these businesses via the side streets, rear entrances and along the café table area adjacent to the Broadwalk. Additionally, visitors staying along the Broadwalk and residents who live in homes adjacent to the Broadwalk will be able access their homes and lodging establishments via the Broadwalk.
City Facilities & Community Centers
Effective Tuesday, March 17, all City-operated community centers not serving as polling locations, the David Park Tennis Center, Orangebook Golf and Country Club, Hollywood Beach Golf Club, Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, and the Hollywood Marina, including the marina fuel pump, will be closed until further notice. Marina staff will continue to provide security services as scheduled.
City-operated Community Centers serving as polling locations will be open for voting on Tuesday, March 17th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For a list of polling locations in Hollywood, please visit the Broward County Supervisor of Elections website. Public Meetings
The Community Redevelopment Agency Meeting, Regular City Commission Meeting, and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Meeting scheduled for this week have been cancelled. The Special Magistrate scheduled for next week has also been cancelled.
Sun Shuttle
The Sun Shuttle micro transit system has been suspended until further notice. These measures are being put in place for the protection of the community, visitors, and employees to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the healthcare system is not overwhelmed.
Avoid the Spread of Germs
The public is encouraged to use social distancing when in public areas.
Social distancing recommendations include maintaining a distance between you and other people of at least 6 feet. It also means minimizing contact with people, limiting nonessential travel, and avoiding social gatherings and places.
