Updates on City of Hollywood
COVID-19 Response

Here are the guidelines being put in place in an effort to reduce crowds and promote social distancing to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bars and Nightclubs to Close for 30 Days

Effective 5:00 p.m. today, all bars, pubs and nightclubs in the City of Hollywood must suspend operations for 30 days.  This includes closing the bar area within a restaurant for direct service to patrons.

New Guidelines for Restaurants

Restaurants state-wide are also required to have a 50% capacity limitation, and dine-in seating must be staggered and limited to ensure seated parties are separated by at least six feet. Restaurants are mandated to screen employees for illness and/or COVID -19 exposure and prohibit entry for any employee who has a positive response to screening questions.

In addition to the capacity limitations and table spacing requirements, Hollywood restaurants City-wide must limit the number of people in their establishment to no more than 50 during all hours of operation. All dine-in service must end at or before 10:00 p.m. each day and must remain closed until 6:00 a.m. the following day. Restaurants may remain open past 10:00 p.m. to provide delivery, take-out and drive through service only.

Hollywood Beach and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk

Hollywood Beach and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk are closed to the public for recreational use. Many businesses and restaurants on the barrier island and along the Broadwalk remain opened. Patrons can use the Broadwalk, side streets and rear and side entrances to access these businesses. Additionally, visitors staying along the Broadwalk and residents who live in homes adjacent to the Broadwalk will be able access their homes and lodging establishments via the Broadwalk.

City Facilities, Community Centers & Parks

Effective today, all City-operated community centers not serving as polling locations, the David Park Tennis Center, Orangebook Golf and Country Club, Hollywood Beach Golf Club, Art and Culture Center/Hollywood, and the Hollywood Marina, including the marina fuel pump, are closed until further notice. Marina staff will continue to provide security services as scheduled. All City-operated parks remain open for passive use only. Organized use is prohibited.

City-operated Community Centers serving as polling locations will be open for voting today (Tuesday, March 17th) until 7:00 p.m. For a list of polling locations in Hollywood, please visit the Broward County Supervisor of Elections website.

15 Days to Slow the Spread
Do Your Part to Slow the Spread of the Coronavirus

Health Restrictions

Health Restrictions

On Friday, March 13th Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order prohibiting visitation to assisted living facilities, nursing homes, long-term care facilitates and group homes across Florida for 30 days in an effort to stop the spread of novel coronavirus among some of the state’s most vulnerable population. A few exceptions could apply, such as end of life situations. Caregivers should check with their loved ones' facility directly for additional information.

To keep all patients, families and staff safe from possible exposure to COVID-19, Memorial Healthcare System is limiting visitation to only primary caregivers for individual patients, and limiting visitors to one primary caregiver for each patient. Everyone else, including siblings of any age, may not visit.

Request for Donations of
N95 respirator protective devices

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization has declared a global shortage of N95 respirator protective devices, which are typically used by first responders and those in healthcare industry to filter airborne particles. N95 masks are considered an essential tool in the healthcare industry as they block almost 95% of all microbes. These masks are often used by dentists, ophthalmologists and construction workers on job sites. Today Vice President Pence requested construction companies who may have a stockpile of masks to consider donating them to help protect our healthcare workers. To learn how you can donate your supply of N95 masks, please email Lissette Dominguez in the City of Hollywood’s Development Services Division or call 954.921.3335 ext. 6610.
