City of Hollywood COVID-19 UpdateTuesday, May 26, 2020
As the City moves forward with the reopening of parks, recreational areas and businesses in Hollywood, we must all continue to take the necessary precautions to protect our safety and well-being. Please remain vigilant in following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Florida Department of Health guidelines. Compliance with these recommendations is critical as we transition from safer at home orders to reopening businesses.

Additional Select City Parks and Recreational Facilities Reopening Tomorrow, May 27 In the continuing effort to protect the safety and well-being of our community, those visiting parks and recreational facilities must follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Florida Department of Health, including wearing facial covering and social distancing. City-operated parks and recreational facilities will remain open contingent upon visitors' compliance with these recommended guidelines.

Paddleball Courts Paddleball courts will allow for singles play only beginning on Wednesday, May 27th. Only two people per court allowed. No multiplayer games. Golf Courses- The Driving Range at Orangebrook will reopen on Wednesday, May 27th with limited capacity and physical distancing rules in place.
Hollywood Dog Beach Hollywood Dog Beach is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as of May 27th. All users must have daily or six month pass. Patrons must follow physical distancing when in park. Facial coverings are recommended. Please bring your own water as water fountains are closed. Permits can be purchased at Dog Beach only during operations hours at this time. Credit cards only. Hollywood Dog Beach is located between Pershing and Custer Streets on Hollywood Beach.
Driftwood Community Pool The Driftwood Community Pool, located at 3000 N 69th Avenue, is opening on Wednesday, May 27th for lap swimming and limited private swim lessons. - Only courses where instructor can teach outside of the water or maintain 6 ft. physical distance.
- Participants only inside facility.
- Professional courses CPR, AED, Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor.
- NO OPEN SWIM at this time.
- Physical distancing required at all times.
- Facial coverings must be worn outside of water.
- Temperature check for employees and patrons required before entry into facility.

Pavilion Rentals Beginning Wednesday, May 27th, pavilion rentals will be available. Rentals are for only parties less than 10. Pavilions must be rented in advance, no walk up rentals allowed. Visitors must adhere to physical distancing and must wear facial cover when within 6 feet of another person. Venues will be limited to 1 rental per day. Only pavilions listed below are available for rental. Rental times are 4 hours maximum. All other pavilions remain closed at this time. Beaches in Broward County Reopen TodayAll beaches in Broward County are permitted to open as of 12:01 a.m. today, Tuesday, May 26th per Broward County Emergency Order 20-13. All persons utilizing the beaches in Broward must comply with the requirements listed in the guidelines below. Failure to comply with the requirements may result in penalties (civil or criminal) for violators and require beaches in Broward County be re-closed. BEACHES IN BROWARD COUNTY LIMITED REOPENING GUIDELINESAll beaches in Broward County may reopen for limited ocean activities (such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, body surfing) as well as limited active recreation and exercise (such as walking, running, biking). Attachment 1: Beaches in Broward County Limited Reopening GuidelinesPDF Beach Restrictions Per Broward County EO 20-13: - Beach hours shall be limited to between sunrise and sunset.
- No picnicking, sunbathing, sitting, or lying on the beach.
- No umbrellas, canopies, chairs, loungers, or coolers allowed.
- No group or organized sports including, but not limited to, volleyball, soccer, or football.
- No group gathering or events of more than ten (10) individuals.
- Individuals must maintain a minimum six feet of physical distance from others at all times, except between members of the same household or group.
- Municipalities shall have the ability to enact more stringent requirements than set forth herein, and, as with all other aspects of this Emergency Order, municipalities are authorized to enforce the requirements of this Emergency Order.

Important Information Regarding Special Commission Meeting – Annual Advisory Board AppointmentsThe City of Hollywood will be conducting a virtual Special City Commission Meeting for the Annual Advisory Board Appointments tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. using Communications Media technology (“CMT”). Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order No. 20-69 pertaining to conducting local government meetings while under the public health emergency related to the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In accordance with this order and due to a prohibition of public access to Hollywood City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd, Room 221, because of the risk to public health, the City is offering a number of options for board/committee appointees and members of the public to view and participate in the meeting. Online Surplus Auction Underway Now - Auction Closes Tuesday, June 2nd at 7pmThe City contracts with a company called "Bidera" to handle public auctions of surplus items. As part of their contract they inspect each item, write up a description, take detailed photographs and then host the auction. Hollywood is just one of many local municipalities to use the Bidera online auction site to sell surplus items with the goal of realizing the best possible price to the benefit of taxpayers.
Police cars, panel trucks, vans, pick-up trucks, cars and other miscellaneous vehicles are up for auction right now - 70 vehicles in total are in this auction lot.

Annual Water Line FlushingProgram Happening NowThe City's Department of Public Utilities' Annual Free Chlorine Line Flushing Program is underway. The free chlorine portion of this program will end June 15th. If necessary, flushing may continue across the City through June 30th to achieve optimal system maintenance.
