2020 Disaster Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday May 29 - June 4The 2020 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday begins today and ends on Thursday, June 4th. During this sales tax holiday period, qualifying items related to disaster preparedness are exempt from sales tax. Complete List of Qualifying Items

Important Information Regarding the Upcoming CRA and City Commission MeetingsIn accordance with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order No. 20-69, and due to the current prohibition on public access to Hollywood City Hall, the City is offering a number of options for members of the public to view and participate in the June 3rd meetings from their home.

Any member of the public wishing to comment publicly on any matter, including specific agenda items and/or Citizens Comments may do so via the City’s website at the links below or via telephone.

- Comments are limited to 400 words and/or 3 minute spoken maximum.

Broward County Beaches Are Open All beaches in Broward County are open. All persons utilizing the beaches in Broward must comply with the requirements listed in the guidelines below. Failure to comply may result in penalties and require beaches to be re-closed. Beach Restrictions Per Broward County EO 20-13: - Beach hours shall be limited to between sunrise and sunset.
- No picnicking, sunbathing, sitting, or lying on the beach.
- No umbrellas, canopies, chairs, loungers, or coolers allowed.
- No group or organized sports including, but not limited to, volleyball, soccer, or football.
- No group gathering or events of more than ten (10) individuals.
- Individuals must maintain a minimum six feet of physical distance from others at all times, except between members of the same household or group.
- Municipalities shall have the ability to enact more stringent requirements than set forth herein, and, as with all other aspects of this Emergency Order, municipalities are authorized to enforce the requirements of this Emergency Order.

Hollywood’s New Expanded Outdoor Dining Zones Hollywood Beach Broadwalk: Thursday at 2:00 p.m. to Monday at 5:00 a.m. Downtown Hollywood: Saturday at 6:00 a.m. to Monday at 5:00 a.m. now through June 22nd.

Online Surplus Auction Underway Now - Auction Closes Tuesday, June 2nd at 7pmThe City contracts with a company called "Bidera" to handle public auctions of surplus items. As part of their contract they inspect each item, write up a description, take detailed photographs and then host the auction. Hollywood is just one of many local municipalities to use the Bidera online auction site to sell surplus items with the goal of realizing the best possible price to the benefit of taxpayers.
Police cars, panel trucks, vans, pick-up trucks, cars and other miscellaneous vehicles are up for auction right now - 70 vehicles in total are in this auction lot.
The auction closes on Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. Anyone interested can visit the auction site and submit a bid here

Annual Water Line Flushing Program Underway City-wideThe City's Department of Public Utilities' Annual Free Chlorine Line Flushing Program is underway. The free chlorine portion of this program will end June 15th. If necessary, flushing may continue across the City through June 30th to achieve optimal system maintenance. For more information on the discontinuance of Free Chlorination or additional questions, please call the City of Hollywood Water Treatment Plant at 954.967.4230. Ask for Carlos Aguilera, Public Utilities Manager, or Luis Montoya, Water Treatment Plant Superintendent.
