As the City continues to reopen businesses, parks and recreational areas in Hollywood, we must all continue to take the necessary precautions to protect our safety and well-being. Please remain vigilant in following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Florida Department of Health guidelines.
The number of COVID-19 cases are trending upwards in our area, therefore, compliance with these recommendations is critical as we transition from safer at home orders to reopening businesses. Free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site in West HollywoodFlorida Department of Health in Broward County, in partnership with the City of Hollywood, is hosting a free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street in West Hollywood Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
No appointment necessary. Those interested in securing a set day and time are encouraged to call 954.412.7300 to schedule an appointment.
What Do I Need To Know In Order To Be Tested? Anyone can be tested regardless of age. Those under the age of 18 require parent or guardian consent. Anyone can be tested regardless of symptoms. Bring your appointment confirmation number with you, if you made an appointment.
What Happens When I Arrive? Each individual will be greeted and directed by personnel in protective gear. Each individual will be asked to provide their government issued ID, first and last name, health insurance card and contact information.
What is the Testing Process? A health professional in personal protective equipment will provide you with instructions. A soft swab will be inserted into your nose or throat to get the necessary sample. This may be slightly uncomfortable; however, the test is quick and should take less than a minute.
What Happens After I Am Tested? After you have been tested, you will be given information on what to do while awaiting test results. Please keep the instruction sheet until after you receive your results. Follow signage and directions for exiting the testing site. After being tested, continue to monitor and record symptoms. You will receive your test results via telephone call.

Temporary Road Closure at N. 20th AveThe City’s Department of Public Utilities contractor will be closing portions of N. 20th Avenue in both directions between Hollywood Boulevard and Polk Street for the installation of a new water main. Weather permitting, work will began today and will be completed by Friday June 26th. Road closures will be in effect daily between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The work is being done in two phases. The first phase on beginning today will require N. 20th Avenue to be closed between Hollywood Boulevard and Tyler Street through Wednesday, June 24th. The second phase is planned to begin on Thursday June 25th and involves closing N. 20th Avenue to the north of Tyler Street through Friday, June 26th. In both cases, the closures will only be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Utility Billing Payment System will be Temporarily Unavailable The Utility Billing Payment System will be shut down for routine maintenance on Tuesday, June 30th at 4:00 p.m. The system will be down until Wednesday, July 1st at 1:00 a.m.
During this period, payments will not be accepted via the web or by phone, but you will still have access to view your utility account online. Utility Billing apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause customers. Click here for more information or options for paying your utility bill.

Eviction Prevention, Rent and Utility Assistance The City has entered into an agreement with HOPE South Florida to provide Eviction Prevention, Rental and Utility Assistance for Hollywood residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. REMINDER Special Events in Hollywood Remain Cancelled Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions on large gatherings, all City organized special events, including the offshore fireworks display on Hollywood Beach on the 4th of July, have been cancelled. Surplus Auction Underway Now - Auction Closes June 30thThe City’s recent Surplus Auction realized $92,020 with the sale of 70 surplus vehicles. A new surplus auction is underway and runs through Tuesday, June, 30th at 7:00 p.m. This auction lot is featuring 66 items including vans, trucks, cars and other vehicles. View and place a bid here
The City contracts with a company called "Bidera" to handle public auctions of surplus items. As part of their contract they inspect each item, write up a description, take detailed photographs and then host the auction. Hollywood is just one of many local municipalities to use the Bidera online auction site to sell surplus items with the goal of realizing the best possible price to the benefit of taxpayers. Science, Education & Adventure (S.E.A.) Camp Registration Going On NowS.E.A. Camp is a classroom without walls focusing on marine life and natural sciences. S.E.A. Camp includes marine biology, oceanography, water safety and ecology; helping campers build upon their science disciplines. Campers explore our beach areas, marshes, everglades and other natural areas of interest, learning about fascinating wildfire, ecosystems and environmental issues. Register Online at the link below. Hollywood’s Expanded Outdoor Dining Zones Hollywood Beach Broadwalk: Thursday at 2 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. Downtown Hollywood: Saturday at 6 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. now through July 27th.
