COVID Business Complaints

Public Dashboard Tracks Local COVID-19 Business Complaints

Residents can see if businesses are following emergency guidelines
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to climb in Florida, Broward County has launched a tool to help residents ensure they are doing everything they can to contribute to a safer, healthier community and stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Broward County’s Planning and Development Management Division has launched a public-facing dashboard of COVID-19 complaints about businesses not following sanitation, social distancing, facial covering and other reopening requirements contained in local Emergency Orders. The GIS-based website displays details about business complaints received. Residents are encouraged to bookmark the dashboard and visit it frequently for updates in your area.

Residents are reminded to follow social distancing and facial covering guidelines whenever and wherever possible, even at family gatherings. If you observe that a business is not following the preventive guidelines, you can report it anonymously online at MyBroward.Broward.org, or call 311.

City-operated Summer Camps Closed

City Summer Camps Closed

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts (PRCA) has announced that all City-operated summer camps are closed, effective Monday, July 6, 2020. The decision to close the camps was made out of an abundance of caution, due to the increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in South Florida.

The primary concern, as always, is for the health and safety of all camp participants, staff and their family members. In an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, the difficult decision has been made to close the City camps until further notice.

Parents and guardians of summer camp participants should continue to monitor their child's health, regularly take their temperature and perform visual inspections looking for coronavirus symptoms; coughing, fever, shortness of breath, etc. Please speak with your child's physician for additional medical guidance.

City staff thanks the families for their understanding, flexibility, and support during this challenging time. The hope is that many of the postponed PRCA events and programming will be rescheduled for later this year if possible. Staff remains active and engaged, for additional questions or concerns, please call the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts at 954.921.3404.
