Special City Commission Meeting
FY2021 First Public Budget Hearing

September 14, 2020 at 5:30 PM

The City of Hollywood will be conducting a virtual Special City Commission Meeting for the FY 2021 First Public Budget Hearing along with the Fire Rescue Assessment and Fire Inspection Assessment on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers, Room 219, using Communications Media technology (“CMT”).  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order No. 20-69 pertaining to conducting local government meetings while under the public health emergency related to the Noval Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).  In accordance with this order and due to a prohibition of public access to Hollywood City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd, Room 221, because of the risk to public health, the City is offering a number of options for board/committee appointees and members of the public to view and participate in the meeting.

Volunteers Wanted to Serve on Advisory Boards/Committees

Joining a City of Hollywood advisory board is a great way to get involved with City government and volunteer your time. Not only are you giving back to your community, you are also learning about an aspect of the City. Whether you join the Neighborhood Watch Advisory Board, Historic Preservation Board or the Planning & Development Board, you will be informed on issues affecting the City and empowered to make recommendations to the City Commission. There are a number of advisory boards or committees which still have vacant positions.


Boards and Committees primarily serve in an advisory capacity; however, there are some advisory boards or committees that have special requirements. If you are interested in joining, please visit the City’s website to the boards and committees application page. From there you will get information to help you identify a position that may interest you.

Royal Poinciana Temporary Parking & Restrictions & Curbside Collections

Important Notice for Royal Poinciana Neighborhood Residents

Curbside Collections and On-street Parking Restrictions Begin September 14th

The Department of Public Utilities water main replacement project continues in the Royal Poinciana neighborhood. Due to ongoing construction activities occurring in the neighborhood alleyways, the placement of garbage and recycling bins, as well as bulk items needs to move curbside to the front of a property.

To ensure collection trucks can access the bins and bulk items at the curb, parking on the street will be prohibited from 8:00 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Thursdays. This temporary on-street parking ban and change to curbside collections begins Monday, September 14th and effects the following residents:

Temporary On-Street Parking Restrictions and Curbside Solid Waste and Recycling Collections:
Johnson Street to Fillmore Street from US1 to N. 21st Avenue

Free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site in West Hollywood

Florida Department of Health in Broward County, in partnership with the City of Hollywood, is hosting a free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street in West Hollywood Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Home-bound residents  may schedule a mobile appointment by calling 954.412.7300. Click here for additional information.



Facial Coverings Required

Emergency Orders Requiring Facial Coverings in Effect County-wide


City of Hollywood Emergency Order 20-06 requires all persons outside their homes to wear a facial covering consistent with current CDC guidelines that cover the nose and mouth, including individuals within the common areas of all buildings with multiple residences and at their place of employment unless otherwise exempted. 

In addition, Broward County Emergency Order 20-21 requires facial coverings throughout the County in all public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained.
