Broward County Now In Phase III
of Governor's Recovery Plan

On September 25, 2020, Governor Ron DeSantis announced all of Florida has moved into Phase III of his Recovery Plan. While COVID-19 positivity rates continue trend favorably, residents should remain vigilant and continue to take the necessary safety precautions. Avoid the  “3 C’s” – Closed Spaces, Crowded Places and Close-Contact Settings, wear a facial covering when in public, and maintain social distancing of at least six feet. Establishments can be cited when patrons are found not wearing facial coverings. Please be a responsible customer by wearing a mask, and respect your favorite establishment's staff when they ask you to put one on for service.

Open Your Taps to Flush Your Pipes

Open Your Taps to Flush Your Pipes

With businesses reopening, the City of Hollywood Public Utilities Department recommends that businesses open their water taps to flush pipes prior to consumption. Buildings that have been closed up have seen a reduction in water use, which could cause stagnant water to settle in the plumbing.

Follow EPA and AWWA recommendations for protecting water quality for your employees by flushing systems thoroughly prior to use.  For more information, please visit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) website.
