Shop Small

Shop Small this Holiday Season

Supporting small business is now more important than ever. This holiday season looks a little different, but you can still shop small to help support your favorite local Hollywood businesses, both in-store and online. Small Business Saturday this year is on Saturday, November 28th, but please consider supporting your favorite small business all season long.

In 2010, American Express founded Small Business Saturday as a way to encourage people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Last year, the 10th Annual Small Business Saturday hit a record high with an estimated $19.6 billion in reported spending. These small businesses serve as the backbone of our economy and represent over 89% of Broward County's business community. Join the movement, remember to Shop Small in Hollywood this holiday season.

received by Monday December 21st. First, second and third place winner for each category will be announced on the Parks Department's Special Event webpage and on the City's Facebook Page. For contest rules and additional information call 954.921.3404.

Christmas Tree

Online Christmas Tree Lighting

Kick off the holiday season with a video of the Christmas Tree at ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood. A video is posted on the City's Facebook page to showcase the tree and lights as they are switched on. While the City's traditional in-person Tree Lighting Ceremony was cancelled due to COVID-19, the spirit of the season remains. The 30 foot tree features 4,000 twinkling colored lights, more than 400 festive ornaments and is topped with a dazzling star. The custom base features lighted palm trees and turtles, which is a salute to the City's official City seal and City logo.
