Get Involved in Your CommunityAttend City Meetings While the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we all interact, it also has created a number of new options for civic engagement and participation. Here in the City of Hollywood, there are opportunities for residents to attend most City, Board and Committee meetings in-person or virtually, simply to watch or to submit public comments. Options for the public to participate virtually from the safety of their homes are now fully integrated into the City’s standard operating procedures. Participate In-Person Members of the public are able to attend CRA & City Commission meetings, workshops and most Board and Committee meetings in-person at City Hall. Those wishing to attend in-person to either watch or publicly comment may do so by pre-registering their attendance. The registration requirement is due to the limited seating available to allow for safe social distancing. Please note, anyone entering City Hall must pass through a temperature checkpoint prior to admittance.
Participate Virtually Virtual meetings have become commonplace during the pandemic, and the City offers a number of options to attend meetings virtually. The City uses the Cisco WebEx platform to hold virtual meetings. Links to attend these virtual meetings and/or to publicly comment are included in the event calendar listing found on the City’s website, posted to the Online Sunshine Board, posted to the physical Sunshine Board located at City Hall, provided through email blasts, posted on department webpages, and on the City’s social media channels. The public is invited to attend these meetings via WebEx, when available.
The City also broadcasts all CRA and City Commission Meetings and Workshops on its Government Access Channel, Comcast 78, ATT-U-Verse 99 and via live stream on the City’s website. Look for the “Watch Meeting” link to view the live stream under the “Government” tab on the homepage at www.hollywoodfl.org.
Residents are encouraged to remain active in the community and accurately informed by participating in City-held meetings, both virtually and in-person.
