The Commercial Property Improvement Program (CPIP) is an incentive program designed to improve the facades of publicly or privately owned commercial or industrial buildings along specific commercial corridors. This program is based on the premise that exterior improvements to commercial buildings in highly visible locations will stimulate private investment, attract customers, and result in new economic opportunities.
Grant funding of up to $25,000 per property/property owner is available to commercial and industrial property owners that intend to restore, renovate or improve the exterior facade of their property.
Per CPIP guidelines, eligible properties must be located within the designated Low and Moderate Income (LMI) areas and includes the following commercial and industrial corridors: - Johnson Street from 72nd Avenue to 55th Avenue
- Hollywood Boulevard from 72nd Avenue to 22nd Avenue
- US 441 north of Atlanta Street to Pembroke Road
- Dixie Highway/N 21st Avenue from Sheridan Street to Pembroke Road
- Federal Highway/US1 from Sheridan Street to Pembroke Road
Interested participants are encouraged to attend one of the Public Information Sessions listed below to learn how to apply for this reimbursable grant.

Web Solution Identifies Hollywood's Unregistered Vacation Rentals
Granicus, a leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement technologies and services, has partnered with the City of Hollywood to help manage short-term rental (STR) compliance.
Granicus’ Host Compliance product works by using artificial intelligence (AI) to scan more than 60 STR sites—including VRBO, Airbnb, and FlipKey—to identify property addresses. This provides cities with full visibility into their local vacation rental market, prevents owners from bypassing local regulations, and ultimately streamlines compliance and tax collection. Granicus also offers a 24/7 non-emergency hotline to allow residents to report concerns, like excessive noise, without tying up emergency resources.
“Tourism is a vital industry for our City—but it can’t come at the expense of quality of life for our permanent residents,” said Andria Wingett, Assistant Director of Development Services. “We have a robust, and growing, short-term rental market in Hollywood; monitoring its growth and fluctuation month-to-month is a gargantuan undertaking. We needed a solution that could do the heavy lifting, and help us create a welcoming and safe environment for both visitors and permanent residents.” For more information, please click here.
