City Launches New Customer Service App Called "Hollywood Connect" Need to report a pothole? Have you spotted a clogged storm drain? Or maybe you have noticed a code concern. “Hollywood Connect” is a fast, easy and convenient way for users to report non-emergency concerns directly to Hollywood City Hall.
Today, the City announced the launch of its new customer service platform, “Hollywood Connect,” powered by Rock Solid Technologies. The new application allows residents, business owners and visitors to report concerns directly to City Hall for resolution. The easy-to-use app allows you to submit service requests for code violations, potholes, streetlight outages, unsafe conditions and more directly from your mobile device. If enabled, your GPS and location services on your device will help pinpoint the service issue location – or you may enter the location manually. Once received, service requests are then routed to the appropriate department for attention and will be responded to quickly and efficiently. Users can easily track the progress of their service request, will receive updates throughout the resolution process, and will be notified once the issue has been resolved. Reports may be submitted using the Hollywood Connect mobile app, via the website at www.HollywoodFL.org/HollywoodConnect, or via email at hollywoodconnect@hollywoodfl.org. To download the free app, search for “Hollywood Connect” in the AppStore or Google Play Store.
Hollywood Connect replaces the “Help Me Hollywood” application, which officially expired on July 31st. The Help Me Hollywood app will automatically update to the Hollywood Connect app on Apple devices that are set to automatic updates. Android users who currently have the Help Me Hollywood app must download the new app from the Google Play store.
In addition to submitting service requests, app users may also pay their water bills (Hollywood utility customers only), view their garbage collection schedule, apply for a building permit or vacation rental license, and learn about events and happenings in the City. The app also provides for language translation.
For additional information, please visit www.HollywoodFL.org/HollywoodConnect

It's Rainy Season. Drain and Cover to Prevent Mosquitoes! Although mosquito season seems to be year-round in South Florida, it becomes a problem during the rainy summer months. This is the time of year when those pesky mosquitoes find even more opportunity to breed, and most of the time, we can help fight the bite. The Florida Department of Health encourages you to follow some simple tips to reduce mosquito breeding and prevent the transmission of mosquito-borne diseases like West Nile virus disease, Zika, Dengue, and malaria: - Drain water from garbage cans, house gutters, pool covers, coolers, toys, flowerpots, or any other containers where sprinkler or rainwater has collected.
- Discard old tires, drums, bottles, cans, pots and pans, broken appliances, and other items that aren’t being used.
- Empty and clean birdbaths and your pet’s water bowls at least once or twice a week.
- Protect boats and vehicles from rain with tarps that don’t accumulate water.
- Maintain the chemistry in your swimming pool to ensure water balance. Empty plastic pools when not in use.
- Repair broken screens on windows, doors, porches, and patios.
- Cover your skin when you have to be outside when mosquitoes are active.
- Apply mosquito repellent to bare skin and clothing. Repellents with DEET, picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus, para-methane-diol, and IR3535 are effective.
The Broward County Mosquito Control Division sprays areas with reported concentrations of mosquitoes, frequently checks known mosquito breeding sites, treats standing water and sprays in areas requested by residents. To request mosquito spraying in your neighborhood, please use the online Mosquito Spray Request Form or call Broward County at 954.765.4062.

Notice to Utility CustomersReinstatement of Disconnections for Past Due Balances Begins October 1stOver one year ago, the City of Hollywood temporarily suspended its policy for service disconnections for past due balances. It was a way to help customers through a difficult economic time and to ensure water service was available for hand washing and other hygiene measures during the height of the pandemic. Customers were encouraged to stay current with their utility payments during this time if they were able, and to reach out for assistance in setting up a payment plan if they were not.
Considering the current positive trends in the COVID vaccination rate and declining COVID-19 positivity rates, disconnections and late penalties for past due utility balances will resume on October 1, 2021. Customers with an outstanding balance on their utility accounts have the following options: If you need assistance: Contact the Family Success Center for Broward County to apply for emergency assistance online here or by calling the Emergency Rental Assistance Hotline at 888-692-7203 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday If you need to set up a payment plan: Contact the City's Customer Service team by calling 954.921.3938 or by email If you would like to pay a delinquent balance in full: You can make a payment online, use the 24-hour automated phone system by calling 954.921.3938 or one of the below options:

Washington Street to Hollywood Boulevard from Federal Highway to Dixie Highway
The estimated completion time for Phase II is October 1, 2021. Your patience and understanding is appreciated during this important infrastructure improvement project. If you have any questions, please contact Public Utilities at 954.921.3930 or Public Works at 954.967.4526.
