Starting this week, join ENERGY STAR for a two-part webinar series focusing on how organizations can advance their sustainability programs by accounting for carbon emissions using greenhouse gas inventories, and how this data can be used to support climate-related projects and goals.

GHG Emissions for Commercial Real Estate Deep Dive
Part 1

The first session in this two-part series will introduce the purpose of accounting for organization-wide carbon emissions and outline important steps for getting started with developing greenhouse gas inventories. Topics will include setting boundaries, collecting data, calculating emissions, reporting greenhouse gas data, and leveraging tools from the ENERGY STAR program that can assist with these processes.

In addition, Ben Myers, Vice President of Sustainability at Boston Properties, will discuss his organization’s approach to its GHG accounting experiences, lessons learned, and how they are using their inventory to achieve carbon-related goals and drive climate change impact throughout their portfolio.

Undergrounding of Utilities and Streetscape  Beautification for A1A

Construction to Start in the Next Few Months

 
The City of Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is preparing to mobilize the construction of the undergrounding of overhead utilities and streetscape beautification. The project boundaries are along State Road A1A from Hollywood Boulevard to Sheridan Street. This is the CRA’s completion of the SR A1A Complete Streets project which was partially completed by the Florida Department of Transportation, and is expected to start mobilizing toward the end of this year.   
 
The project includes but is not limited to:

  • Undergrounding of overhead utilities
  • A new signalized intersection at Garfield Street
  • New landscape on sidewalks on both sides of SR A1A and in the medians
  • New sidewalks with colorful concrete pavers on the west side of SR A1A
  • New pedestrian lighting on the sidewalks on both sides of SR A1A

The CRA invites you to participate by attending their virtual meetings or by calling their office directly. They would appreciate the opportunity to be able to contact you at frequent intervals during the course of this project and provide updates, get your feedback or any other issues. In addition, they will have a project website that will be updated weekly with scheduling and any other pertinent information.
 
Currently, the CRA is seeking information regarding your business operations, food/beverage delivery times, trash hauler schedules, and any other operations which could be impacted by the construction of this project. The objective is to minimize any disruptions to your business.
