Flood Advisory Issued by National Weather Service Miami - Use Caution
The National Weather Service in Miami has a Flood Advisory for our area until 11:30 a.m. Excessive rainfall has resulted in minor flooding in low-lying areas and poor drainage in portions of South Florida, including in Hollywood east of US-1 between Pembroke Road and Sheridan Street.
Residents should not wade in standing flood water, which can contain contaminants. Do not let children or pets play in flood water. Property owners should prepare to notify their homeowner’s insurance providers if they have experienced flood damage and seek their advice on documenting the damage and drying out their home. The same applies for contacting vehicle insurance providers if you find your vehicle has been damaged.
The Hollywood Police Department is reminding motorists to not drive through flooded areas. Please stay off flooded streets, turn around and find a safer route. Forecasters are calling for continued rain, with pockets of heavy rain throughout the day today.
