Friday Night Movie at ArtsPark

Bring the kids to the ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood on Friday night for some free summertime fun! The ArtsPark venue includes open green space, a playground, SplashPad, and a Visual Arts Pavilion that hosts live glass blowing demonstrations. The free movie begins at 8 p.m. at the Amphitheater. This week's feature is "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" (PG).

As a reminder, this venue is plastic and foam-free. Single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at the ArtsPark, including plastic bottles and bags.

Areas in Hollywood to be Sprayed to Reduce Mosquito Larvae

Broward County Mosquito Control will be spraying larvicide to reduce the development of mosquitoes, such as the Aedes aegypti, a known disease-transmitting mosquito and aggressive biter. Larvicide kills mosquito larvae before they can become flying, biting adults. Truck-mounted sprayers will apply larvicide between 10PM and 6AM, weather permitting, in areas of Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and Miramar, August 31 through September 5, 2022. Dream Car Classic

Sunday, September 4^th at 10 a.m.
Dozens of classic cars, trucks and other vehicles of interest will be featured from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 1900 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Admission is free and vehicle registration is $20. The Dream Car Classic takes place on the first Sunday of the month.

Holiday Closures

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, Broward County and City Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 5th. Online services, including payments, remain available. Check the City's online services here.

All City-operated parks, Dowdy Field and Rotary Park (Pell Field and Whitlock Field) are open sunrise to sunset. Hollywood West, Driftwood Athletic Complex, Police Athletic League, Washington Park Athletic Fields will be closed on Monday.

Also note: Poinciana Park playground, 441 Linear Park playground and Emerald Hills Lakes playground swings are closed for construction and the Keating Park restroom building closed.

Saturday, September 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, September 17th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Hollywood at Hollywood West Salsa Fest. Presented by Salsa Festival International, the FREE event will feature Melina Almodóvar and her live orchestra. Salsa Fest takes place on Saturday, September 17th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boulevard Heights Community Center Amphitheater at 6770 Garfield Street in Hollywood.

As a reminder, single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at Boulevard Heights, including plastic bottles and bags.

Rent a Paddleboard on Hollywood Beach

PADL rental kiosks locations on Hollywood Beach include:

New Hampshire Street in the North Beach area
Keating Park, 2500 S. Ocean Drive in the South Beach area

PADL Rental Fees are as follows:

$19 per hour for non-members
$24.99 monthly membership or $99.99 for a 6 month membership
Members receive 2 hours free every day. Additional hours and boards are $10 per hour

Paddlecraft Hours of Operation on Hollywood Beach:

Paddlecraft are allowed to utilize the entire length of the the municipal beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours south of Madison Street (The Keating Park kiosk is located south of Madison Street)
Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours north of Liberty Street.(The New Hampshire Street kiosk is located north of Liberty Street)
In the Central Beach area, south of Liberty Street and north of Madison Street, paddlecraft must remain 100 yards from shore during the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (The kiosk at Charnow Park is set to comply with the rules set forth in City Ordinance 99.02.)

Single-Use Plastics and Foam are Prohibited on Hollywood Beach, at City-Owned Parks and Facilities, and by City Vendors

The City of Hollywood is committed to reducing our environmental impact and becoming more sustainable. One step the City has taken in achieving this goal is to ban the use of nonbiodegradable containers, like plastics and expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), for serving food products.

If you're planning on going to the beach or park or attending an event or meeting at City Hall, a community center, park, ArtsPark at Young Circle, or other city facility, please don't bring plastic bottles, bags and other single-use plastics and foam containers.
