Friday Night Movie at ArtsPark

Friday, September 9th

Bring the kids to the ArtsPark at Young Circle in downtown Hollywood on Friday night for some free fun! The ArtsPark venue includes open green space, a playground, SplashPad, and a Visual Arts Pavilion that hosts live glass blowing demonstrations. The free movie begins at 8 p.m. at the Amphitheater. This week's feature is "Wonder" (PG). 

As a reminder, this venue is plastic and foam-free. Single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at the ArtsPark, including plastic bottles and bags.

Beach Sweep

Hollywood Beach Sweep

Saturday, September 10th

Help keep Hollywood Beach beautiful by volunteering for the Hollywood Beach Sweep Clean-Up on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 7 – 11 a.m. at Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut Street and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Volunteers meet to collect litter and cigarette butts from the sandy beach. Volunteers are asked complete the registration form found on the City’s website. Children ages 8 and older are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult. Gloves and garbage bags are provided to all volunteers along with safety instructions. Remember to dress appropriately, wear sunscreen and bring a completed registration form with you.

Reminder: Hollywood Beach is plastic/foam free. Please bring a reusable water bottle.

Full Moon Drum Circle

Full Moon Drum Circle

Saturday, September 10th

7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Bring a drum or percussion instrument to the ArtsPark and participate in a free guided drum circle. All skill levels welcome. Meet the group at the Palm Court on the west side of the park.

Single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at ArtsPark, including plastic bottles and bags.

Adult Basketball 3V3 Tournament

Saturday, September 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Get your teams together to compete in a day-long adult basketball tournament. The tournament will take place on Saturday, September 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Washington Park at 5199 Pembroke Road. For more information or to sign up, email lialfred@hollywoodfl.org or call 954.967.4235.

Hollywood West Salsa Fest

Saturday, September 17th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Hollywood at Hollywood West Salsa Fest. Presented by Salsa Festival International, the FREE event will feature Melina Almodóvar and her live orchestra. Salsa Fest takes place on Saturday, September 17th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boulevard Heights Community Center Amphitheater at 6770 Garfield Street in Hollywood.
As a reminder, single-use plastics and Styrofoam containers are prohibited at Boulevard Heights, including plastic bottles and bags.
Paddlebaord Rental

Rent a Paddleboard on Hollywood Beach 

PADL rental kiosks locations on Hollywood Beach include:

  • Liberty Street in the North Beach area

  • Keating Park, 2500 S. Ocean Drive in the South Beach area

PADL Rental Fees are as follows:

  • $19 per hour for non-members
  • $24.99 monthly membership or $99.99 for a 6 month membership
  • Members receive 2 hours free every day. Additional hours and boards are $10 per hour

Paddlecraft Hours of Operation on Hollywood Beach:

  • Paddlecraft are allowed to utilize the entire length of the the municipal beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
  • Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours south of Madison Street (The Keating Park kiosk is located south of Madison Street)
  • Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours north of Liberty Street.(The New Hampshire Street kiosk is located north of Liberty Street) 
  • In the Central Beach area, south of Liberty Street and north of Madison Street, paddlecraft must remain 100 yards from shore during the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (The kiosk at Charnow Park is set to comply with the rules set forth in City Ordinance 99.02.)

Plastic and Foam Free Hollywood Beach City Owned Properties and City Vendors

REMINDER: Hollywood is 
Plastic and Foam Free 

Single-Use Plastics and Foam are Prohibited on Hollywood Beach, at City-Owned Parks and Facilities, and by City Vendors

The City of Hollywood is committed to reducing our environmental impact and becoming more sustainable. One step the City has taken in achieving this goal is to ban the use of nonbiodegradable containers, like plastics and expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), for serving food products.

If you're planning on going to the beach or park or attending an event or meeting at City Hall, a community center, park, ArtsPark at Young Circle, or other city facility, please don't bring plastic bottles, bags and other single-use plastics and foam containers.
