Volunteers Wanted for Focus Groups on Mobility and Transportation IssuesThe Mobility Advancement Program (MAP Broward) is interested in hearing from residents, students, business owners, and others on mobility and transportation issues. To truly understand the needs, challenges, and priorities of the public, we are asking applicants to participate in community focus groups this fall. Focus groups will occur at various locations in Broward County in the four main languages spoken (Creole, English, Portuguese, and Spanish). Focus groups will take approximately two hours. At the end of each focus group, participants will be compensated for their time with a $75 gift card (an ID card will be required to receive the gift card). To be eligible to participate, complete an application by following the link below: FOCUS GROUP APPLICATION All applications must be received by Friday, October 7, 2022. Only one person per household can participate. Selected participants will be contacted directly with additional information about location, time and date. Hollywood Beach SweepSaturday, October 8thHelp keep Hollywood Beach beautiful by volunteering for the Hollywood Beach Sweep Clean-Up on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 7 – 11 a.m. at Charnow Park, 300 Connecticut Street and the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. Volunteers meet to collect litter and cigarette butts from the sandy beach. Volunteers are asked complete the registration form found on the City’s website. Children ages 8 and older are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult. Gloves and garbage bags are provided to all volunteers along with safety instructions. Remember to dress appropriately, wear sunscreen and bring a completed registration form with you.
Reminder: Hollywood Beach is plastic/foam free. Please bring a reusable water bottle.

The tournament has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 15th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Washington Park at 5199 Pembroke Road. Rent a Paddleboard on Hollywood Beach PADL rental kiosks locations on Hollywood Beach include: PADL Rental Fees are as follows: - $19 per hour for non-members
- $24.99 monthly membership or $99.99 for a 6 month membership
- Members receive 2 hours free every day. Additional hours and boards are $10 per hour
Paddlecraft Hours of Operation on Hollywood Beach: - Paddlecraft are allowed to utilize the entire length of the the municipal beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.
- Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours south of Madison Street (The Keating Park kiosk is located south of Madison Street)
- Paddlecraft are allowed at all hours north of Liberty Street.(The New Hampshire Street kiosk is located north of Liberty Street)
- In the Central Beach area, south of Liberty Street and north of Madison Street, paddlecraft must remain 100 yards from shore during the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. (The kiosk at Charnow Park is set to comply with the rules set forth in City Ordinance 99.02.)

REMINDER: Hollywood is Plastic and Foam Free Single-Use Plastics and Foam are Prohibited on Hollywood Beach, at City-Owned Parks and Facilities, and by City VendorsThe City of Hollywood is committed to reducing our environmental impact and becoming more sustainable. One step the City has taken in achieving this goal is to ban the use of nonbiodegradable containers, like plastics and expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), for serving food products.
If you're planning on going to the beach or park or attending an event or meeting at City Hall, a community center, park, ArtsPark at Young Circle, or other city facility, please don't bring plastic bottles, bags and other single-use plastics and foam containers.
