3. When can I place my carts out for collection?

Carts placed out no sooner than 5:00 p.m. on the day prior to scheduled service or no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of scheduled service.

4. When do I have to have my carts returned to storage?

Carts must be returned to storage location no later than 7:00 p.m. on the day of scheduled service.

5. Where am I allowed to keep my collection carts?

Storage locations may include a carport, garage, side or rear of a property, approved, recessed cart bay in an alleyway or on private property.

6. Can I keep my carts in the alleyway?

Carts may be kept in the alleyway in approved, recessed cart bays or on private property. Meaning, if the placement of your fence or landscaping is such that allows space for your carts to be on your private property, and out of the public-right-of-way, then carts are allowed.    

7. What happened to the commingled collections?

Commingled collections were eliminated as of October 1, 2020. Yard Waste (grass clippings, leaves, cuttings, fronds, limbs, etc.) are collected weekly.  Bulk waste (furniture, mattresses, appliances, household goods) are collected monthly. These items are not to be mixed together.

10. Why can't I throw my bulk and yard waste in the alley? Isn't that what it's for?

If you have private property within the alleyway (i.e: your fence is set back onto your property, allowing for more of your private property in the alleyway) then you may place bulk and yard debris on that property. However, if your fence or landscaping goes right up to the alley pavement, you may not place materials in the public right-of-way. The alley public-right-of-way must remain clear. 

11. I received a violation. What does it mean?

Materials placed out earlier than collection schedule will be assessed a removal fee, if not removed within 24 hours of first notice of violation. If, after 24 hours, the materials are still there a crew will come to remove the materials and the property owner will be charged the cost of removal and a $200 administrative service charge fee.

12. Who is responsible for trimming the landscaping in the alleyways?

Individual property owners are responsible for keeping their landscaping trimmed to prevent it from overflowing into the alleyway which then prevents clean passage.

13. Are house numbers required in the alleyway?

Each property with alley access must have house numbers visible from the alley public right-of-way.

14. Can my professional landscapers leave the materials they cut?

No. Professional tree trimmers and lawn maintenance companies are required to remove all debris.

15. I live in Hollywood a few months out of the year. Do I still have to pay when my place is unoccupied?

The monthly sanitation fee will to be charged, regardless of occupancy,
