Cans 4 Cash Results: Hollywood Wins for Originality in Outreach Efforts!

Many residents and city staff participated in last Octobers “Cans 4 Cash” National Recycling Challenge. The contest results are in and Hollywood will receive $5,000 to be used towards future environmental projects! Thanks to all who helped us win this prize which will be used for more environmental programs and don’t forget to continue to recycle. Aluminum cans are highly recyclable- making a new can from a used one takes 95% less energy than using virgin materials. However, all recycling saves energy and raw materials so please recycle metals, plastic, paper, and glass whenever possible- it’s well worth the effort.
