Answer:    Please contact each individual offices to confirm hours of operations.

Question:    I received a citation for an expired tag or no current license plate, what do I do?
Answer:    Send in a copy of your current registration with the ticket, if your registration was valid at the time you were cited, the citation will be administratively excused. If your registration was not valid at time of citation issuance, the citation must be paid or make a request for a court date to appear before a judge.
 
Question:    I received a citation for parking in a handicap space, what do I do, I am handicapped?
Answer:    You can either send in or bring to the office a copy of your handicap placard (both front and back), the handicap placard registration and your driver’s license or I.D. card. The citation will be administratively excused if valid at the time of citation issuance. If you do not have a handicap placard, you will either have to pay the citation or request a court date to appear before a judge.
 
Question:    How do I appeal my citation?
Answer:    You may appeal your citation within 96 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. Click here for detailed instructions.
DO NOT PAY YOUR FINE IF YOU ARE APPEALING IT.
 
Question:    My parking receipt was upside down or it fell off the dashboard and I received a citation. What do I do?
Answer:    Either bring the receipt to the office with the citation or photocopy the front and back of the receipt and mail it in with the citation. If the receipt was valid at the time you were cited, the citation will be administratively excused. This administrative (courtesy) void is only provided on a one time basis. Payment of any future violations for this infraction will be the responsibility of the vehicle owner/driver.
 
Question:    The meter I parked at wasn’t working properly and I received a citation, what do I do?
Answer:    If you call the office within 96 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) of receipt of the citation, a meter checked will be completed. If the meter was malfunctioning for any reason, the citation will be administratively excused. If the meter is checked and it was determined that the meter was functioning properly at the time, the citation will have to be paid or you can request a court date be set-up to appear before a judge. Question:    Where do I go to get a handicap placard?
Answer:    You can obtain the application at the Division of Motor Vehicles, located at the satellite County Courthouse at 3550 Hollywood Boulevard. You can also obtain replacement/duplicate handicap placards and registrations at this location.
 
Question:    Where can I purchase a parking permit?
Answer:    Parking Permits applicable to the downtown area are available for purchase at the following locations:

Question:    How do I rent a meter?
Answer:    Please call (954) 921-3535 for updated information. Reserved meter requests must be placed 48 hours in advance of reservation date being requested.
 
Question:    What methods of payment do you accept?
Answer:    We accept cash, checks, money orders and travelers checks (all checks must be drawn on U.S. Banks), and made payable to the City of Hollywood. Only Visa and MasterCard, credit cards are accepted in person or online.
 
Question:    What documents do I need to purchase a Resident Permit for Hollywood Beach.
Answer:    You need a valid Florida driver’s license, valid vehicle registration and a current utility bill (not older than 30 days). All three pieces must reflect the same Hollywood address. If you just moved here, we will accept a copy of your rental/lease agreement for a temporary parking permit. Once you have changed the address on your license and vehicle registration we will sell you a resident permit.
 
Question:    Where do I get my vehicle registration renewed?
Answer:    The Broward County Satellite Courthouse, Division of Motor Vehicles located at 3550 Hollywood Boulevard. Telephone # (954) 765-5050.

Question:    Where can I get a driver’s license?
Answer:    The closest locations to Hollywood are The Division of Motor Vehicles located at 8001 Pembroke Road, Pembroke Pines, and 19 NW 2 Avenue, Hallandale. For additional information call (954) 497-1570.
 
Question:    If I sell my car how do I get another permit?
Answer:    You must remove as much of the original affixed permit as possible , if it is a resident permit; and bring it to the office where you originally purchased it and a replacement will be issued to you at no charge.
 
Question:    My vehicle was booted/towed, how do I retrieve it?
Answer:    You must bring cash or a cashier’s check in the amount stipulated on your warning sticker that was placed on your vehicle 24 hours prior to the boot/tow. If you need to verify the amount owed, please call the Office of Parking & Intergovernmental Affairs at (954) 921-3535.
 
Question:    Can mobile homes or recreational vehicles park on the beach or in the downtown business district?
Answer:    Recreational and mobile homes are prohibited from being parked in metered parking spaces on-street or in the municipal parking lots. Locations that do allow these types of vehicles to park are North Beach Park; located on the east side of A1A and Sheridan Street and at TY Park located off Sheridan Street and Park Road, west of I-95.
