ARTSPARK
AT YOUNG CIRCLE

One Young Circle
Hollywood Boulevard & Federal Highway (U.S. Route 1)

Experience the ArtsPark...
Where Music, Art, and People Meet.
The ArtsPark at Young Circle is located in a 10-acre traffic circle in Downtown Hollywood. Dedicated
in March 2007, the ArtsPark offers residents and visitors a wide array of visual and performing arts
themed educational, recreational, and entertainment activities for all ages.
Millennium Springs, created
by Japanese artist Ritsuko Taho, is a creative water feature and environmental sculpture that interprets
the life energy of a Baobab tree along with the dreams of the City’s founder. Fulfilling the dreams of many
youngsters, the children’s playground, its innovative equipment, and an interactive water fountain are
consistently the busiest attraction at the ArtsPark. Young and not so young visitors are also amused and
inspired by Romero Britto’s Butterfly sculpture located nearby. A typical week’s program of activities
can include 100 hours of demonstrations offered by working artists in the Visual Arts Pavilion where glass
blowing, jewelry making, and sculpturing take place. Music is the mainstay of entertainment at the ArtsPark.
With a concert scheduled for the third Thursday evening of every month plus festivals and special events,
the amphitheater offers blues, big band, country, classical, salsa, and more. The ArtsPark welcomes buskers
(street performers) and vendors of high quality, hand-made art as late afternoon turns to evening on most days.
A selection of musicians, magicians, dancers, puppeteers, jugglers, storytellers, comics, clowns, balloon
sculptors perform for the pleasure of their audiences and the reward of tips and gratuities. The ArtsPark
also offers more than 25 hours of fitness and art classes and 35 hours during which outstanding art can be
viewed in the exhibition gallery.
Funding for the ArtsPark at Young Circle was funded in part by the City of Hollywood and Broward County
through the Broward Country Board of County Commissioners with proceeds from the 2000 Broward County Safe
Parks and Land Preservation Bond Issue.

HOLLYWOOD
BEACH THEATER/BANDSHELL
|
| |
Johnson Street & the Broadwalk (954) 921-3404

Located on the Hollywood Broadwalk and Beach, the theater is the only seaside venue of its
kind in Broward County. This unique facility includes seating for 500. During performances
the Broadwalk in front of the theater becomes a spacious under the stars dance floor for up to
100. A variety of nearby shops sell tee-shirts to Harleys and restaurants feature light meals
to fine dining, many al fresco.
The Hollywood Beach Theater is currently home of three musical series presented Monday to
Wednesday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m., year-round, weather permitting. All are free.
Monday - Theater Under the Stars Series
The longest, ongoing cultural program offered by the City of Hollywood, the Theater Under the Stars
Series features bands performing music from the ‘30s and ‘40s to the easy listening of big band,
swing and contemporary favorites. It’s the perfect background for dancing or simply listening
while enjoying ocean breezes.
Featured performance groups have included Cozy Michaels, Miguel & Company and Poppy.
Tuesday - Dancing in the Moonlight Series
Since 1992, the only rule for Tuesdays at the Theater is that “everybody dances.” Musical
styles range from line dancing to fox trots, from cha chas to meringues or the twist. A
perfect opportunity to relax and mix, the Dancing in the Moonlight Series is a party everyone
is invited to attend.
Performers have included Wayne L. with his Musical Fun Show, the Swell Tones and Dean & Lee.
Wednesday - On the Broadwalk Series
A big favorite with contemporary music lovers, the On the Broadwalk Series features the sounds
of today. From rhythm & blues to country, rock & roll and musical tributes, this series is a
welcome answer to the midweek doldrums.
Featured bands have included the Soul Providers, Brass Cats, Sundown, the Fabulons and Chris MacDonald
with Memories of Elvis.
The Hollywood Beach Theater is also a focal point during CanadaFest (February), the Fourth of July,
the Hollywood Beach Latin Festival (August) and the Candy Cane Parade (December).
Whether you select a favorite night as many do or come all three, a Hollywood week is not
complete without an evening on the Broadwalk at the Hollywood Beach Theater.
Sponsorships are available for the series by calling the City of Hollywood Department of Parks,
Recreation & Cultural Arts Department, (954) 921-3404.
