Q. Where should I report street lights that are not working?

A.

Call 954-967-4223 or 954-967-4526 with information, i.e. address/location and pole number, if possible. The information is then reviewed to verify if the City, FPL or Broward County should perform the repairs. If repairs are to be done by the City, a work order is created and the repair scheduled by the supervisor. If the repairs are to be done by FPL or Broward County, we will relay the information to them. We have no jurisdiction over FPL or Broward County's schedules for repairs

Q. A traffic light is not working properly.

A.	Call the Hollywood Police Department's (HPD’s) non-emergency number, 954-967-4357 for quicker response or call us at 954-967-4526. We will forward the information to HPD who will relay the information to the Broward County Engineering Division for repair.

Q. A street or school zone sign is damaged, down or missing.

A.	Call Broward County Engineering Division at 954-484-9600 or call us at 954-967-4223 or 954-967-4526.

Q. Where should I report graffiti?

A.	Call us at 954-967-4223 or 954-967-4526 for graffiti on City property. For graffiti elsewhere, call HPD at 954-967-4357 or Code Enforcement at 954-967-3061.

Q. My sidewalk needs to be repaired.

A.

According to the Municipal Code of Ordinances, Chapter 155.30, property owners are responsible for the maintenance of sidewalks, swales and curbs that abut their properties. However, if roots of a tree, planted in the swale area damage a sidewalk to the extent that the area becomes hazardous for pedestrian traffic, the Public Works Department will consider removing the tree (after the property owner obtains a removal permit from the Landscape Inspector in the Department of Development Administration at 954-921-3471). Q. There is a pothole in the road or alley.

A.	Call us at 954-967-4223 or 954-967-4526 with the information and the repair will be scheduled.

Q. Does the City maintain trees in the swale?

A.	Trees in swales are the responsibility of the abutting property owner. However, if the branches become hazardous (e.g. hang too low over the sidewalk or road) we will trim the branches.

Q. I would like a tree removed from my property or the swale.

A.	Contact the Landscape Inspector in the Office of Planning at 954-921-3471.

Q. There is a branch in the road - there is a broken branch hanging 
      from a tree - a tree is down or is in danger of falling down.

Q. How can I locate underground cables/utilities?

A.	Call Sunshine State One Call at 1-800-432-4770.

Q. What's the procedure to rent a slip at the Marina?

A.	Call the Marina at 954-921-3035 for details.

Q. Where can I get free paint?

A.	Call the Code Enforcement Division at 954-921-3061.

Q. When can I water my lawn?

A.	See Irrigation Restrictions (under Public Utilities FAQ's).

Q. Where can I report sick or dead animals?

A.	Call Broward County at 954-359-1313.

Q. I have a problem with bees.

A.	Call Alpine Farms at 800-668-6602 - a fee will be charged.

Q. I have a problem with mosquitoes.

A.	Call Broward County's Mosquito Control at 954-765-4062.
