A vision statement is a desired future state. It serves as a guiding compass and when plans are put in place and monitored, visions become reality.

In February, 2010 members of our City Manager's Steering Committee engaged in spirited conversations in their quest to develop a new vision statement. They wanted it to be brief and memorable. Next, they identified strategic themes or areas that needed to be addressed to make the vision a reality.

In May, 2010 at the annual strategic planning workshop, employees, neighborhood associations, local businesses and youth participated in activities to offer input and feedback in defining our City's vision statement. This inclusive approach was an important step to create a SHARED VISION - one that was understood and embraced both internally and externally.

We are proud of our shared vision which was created during our City's 85th anniversary and defines the goals for the City of Hollywood as it reaches its hundredth year anniversary.

Provide services to protect, preserve and enhance natural resources. Increase the amount of green, open spaces and parks while capitalizing on the uniqueness of our area.

Economic Development
Deliver programs and services that locally, nationally, and internationally position the City as the premier tourist and business-friendly destination providing quality jobs and cultural activities. Economic development is a compelling priority focused on building our competitive strength while maintaining a balance consistent with our overall community values.
