Peak Performer – 4th Quarter 2007
Yvette Scott, Budget Officer, and Danette Witherspoon, Procurement Specialist, were honored as joint winners of
the Peak Performer Award. In June of 2007, the Florida State Legislature adopted the Property Tax Reform Relief
Package which is intended to stimulate the State’s housing market while alleviating the tax burden on property owners.
Yvette played a vital role in assessing the impact of the adopted legislation and subsequently provided written and
oral correspondence to City Commission Members, City staff, and bargaining unit representatives and the public at
budget workshops.
In addition to fulfilling her daily responsibilities as a Procurement Specialist by providing for research and
analyses of various procurement related needs and assisting our customers, Danette was able to find time and volunteer
her services as a mentor to DeShan Beneby. DeShan, who recently graduated from Hallandale High School with honors,
is in her first year at Florida International University.
