Inspections can be arranged by calling 954-921-3261 or 954-921-3262 between the hours of 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Automated Inspection System

The City of Hollywood Building Division has incorporated an automated inspection scheduling system to give the Contractor/Homeowner the opportunity to schedule an inspection at any time. This will free up the inspection line to only handle final inspection requests.

If you call the automated line prior to 6 AM, the inspection will be scheduled for that day. After that time it will be scheduled for the following day.

 If your MASTER permit was applied for after 5/7/07

When calling for inspection requests through the Automated Voice Response (IVR) system you will need to enter your

• Permit Number
• Reference (IVR) number(s) associated with the inspection(s) you are requesting.  These are shown on the hard permit card next to each required inspection.  If your Master Permit was applied for on or after 5/7/07 this number will not change.

All entries in the IVR system are recorded for future reference. 

Please note: Master Permit Final inspections cannot be scheduled through this system.

Reinspections of failed inspections require a fee.  You may pay this fee by credit card using the automated inspection system.

If you call before 6 am your inspection(s) will be scheduled for the same business day.  If you call after 6 am your inspection(s) will be scheduled for the next business day.  The permit card, plans and access to the inspection site must be available for the entire scheduled day.  Structural inspections for flat re-roof permits will continue to be given priority.

For best results please call during off-peak hours of 8:00 am to 1:00 pm or after 4 pm. 

If your MASTER permit was applied for prior to 5/7/07

Please have your permit number and associated reference Number for the inspection record(s) you will be referencing. (You will receive the required inspections with reference numbers when you pick up your permit.)  Note that if your Master Permit was applied for on or after 5/7/07 this number will not change.

You will hear the Welcome Message.

You can pick from the Options Menu:
1=Inquiry (results of an inspection)
2=Schedule an inspection
3=Cancel an inspection
4=Credit card Payment for re-inspection fees
5=Sign off the system
 

Follow these Prompts:

Prompt: Enter the first character of your permit: "B"=2, "E"=3, "M"=6, P"=7
Prompt: Enter the remaining 7 digits of your permit number.
Response: The permit Number entered was xxxxxxx.
Prompt: If this number is correct, enter 1, otherwise enter 2 and we will ask for this number again.
Prompt: Enter the reference number (leading zeros are optional)
Response: The reference number entered was xxxxxxxxxxx.
Prompt: If this number is correct, enter 1 otherwise enter 2 and we will ask for this number again.
Response: Please wait while we check our files.
If you entered option 4, to pay for a re-inspection fee by credit card, please have the following information available when prompted: Credit Card Number, VIN number, expiration date in month/year, your street number, and zip code number.
If you entered option 2, to schedule an inspection, you will hear the following two messages:
Prompt: For AM inspections enter 1, for PM inspections enter 2.
Response: Please wait while we process your request.

Depending on the activity, this could take up to 90 seconds

Prompt: If you would like to make another complete entry with a different permit # enter 1, or option if you want to continue with the same permit # and option but a different reference # enter 3, or enter 2 to exit system.

Note: when you become familiar with the prompt/response request, prompts can be bypassed with the appropriate answer pressing the required key.
