The Chris Hixon Memorial 5k, will honor the memory of Chris Hixon; a friend, Coach, Father and great human being. All proceeds will support the Chris Hixon Athletic Scholarship foundation.

The Department of Public Works is holding Operation Paintbrush on Saturday, February 25th from 8 a.m. until noon. The Operation Paintbrush Program provides up to 20 gallons of high-quality exterior latex paint for free to single-family homeowners and non-profit organizations in Hollywood. 100% of the latex paint collected through the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is recycled into new, high-quality exterior paint which is then provided to participating cities at no cost. Paint can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 1600 S. Park Road in Hollywood beginning at 8 a.m. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis while the City's supply lasts. To participate, you must provide your current driver’s license with Hollywood address and a current utility bill as proof of Hollywood residency. The paint colors offered are off-white, beige, terracotta, gray, and turquoise.

Artist Discussion with Marielle Plaisir and Tosha Grantham Join us for an artist discussion with Marielle Plaisir on the occasion of her solo exhibition, The unbearable lightness of being. Plaisir will be joined by independent curator Tosha Grantham as the discuss her new series of works and her interests in depicting Utopian realms within the context of nature and colonialization. The new multi-media works Plaisir is developing enhances her ideas of utopia but also brings the audience a timely form of happiness and peace.
