Cathy Swanson-Rivenbark, CEcD, AICP
Interim City Manager
Cathy Swanson-Rivenbark joined the City of Hollywood in May 2009 as Assistant City Manager. In June 2011, she was appointed Interim
City Manager by the City Commission. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of the City. In her tenure at the
City she has overseen redevelopment activities, supervising Planning and Development Services, Public Works Division, Community Development,
Parking and Intergovernmental Relations and Business and International Trade. She has also served as the City liaison to the Community
Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The Johnson Street Redevelopment Project (Margaritaville) is one of the projects she brought forward.
Prior to joining the City of Hollywood, Cathy was the Development Director for the City of Coral Gables where she was responsible for real
estate and economic development activities, including multinational recruitment, retail development, and strategic planning. These projects
included the Gables Grand (a 200 unit market rate rental housing development with ground floor retail and public parking), the Village of Merrick
Park (a $285 million mixed use development including office, retail and residential), the Palace at Coral Gables (a 242 unit senior housing facility
currently in permitting), and the purchase of Miracle Theater.
Cathy has her Masters in Urban Planning with a concentration in Economic Development from the University of Wisconsin and her Bachelors from
Purdue University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is also a Certified Economic Developer with the International
Economic Development Council.
