Do I need a paint permit?

Yes, if your property is located within the Historic District and the Downtown Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) or the Beach Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) and is not a single-family dwelling unit. There is a paint pallet that can be viewed in the Office of Planning. A photograph of the structure is needed prior to painting.

Does a painted sign need a permit?

Yes, in fact a painted sign is considered as a regular sign in terms of signage area, location, color and permitting.

How do you calculate a sign area?

Sign area is calculated by drawing a box around the proposed sign (letters and logos) including all spaces.

Do I need a permit to remove a tree?

Yes, you do need a permit to remove a tree. An application for a tree removal permit must be submitted to the Office of Planning, attention to the City’s Landscape Inspector.
