Our Mission
Our mission is to implement the Capital Improvement and General
Obligation Bond Programs for the
City of Hollywood in a professional, responsible, and resourceful
manner. We are committed to working with all Municipal, County, and
State Agencies to provide professional services that reflect our shared
values of honesty, integrity, and efficiency. We are committed to
providing opportunities within our organization for each person to grow
professionally, both in terms of technical abilities and human
interaction.
Department History
The Department of Design and Construction Management (DCM) was
created by Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Hollywood,
Florida on January 6, 1999. DCM began as the Special Projects Task
Force, which was created in May of 1998 by the City Manager to oversee
implementation of the City's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The CIP is
a five-year plan of major infrastructure and facilities improvements
throughout the City.
Summary of Accomplishments

DCM has completed approximately 385 projects since
March 1998, with a total budget of approximately $137 million.

DCM has designed more than 151 projects in-house
since 1998, totaling approximately $111 million.

DCM received approximately $1.6 million in Federal and State
Grants for the City's Gateway Projects since 1998.
Numerous awards have been bestowed upon the City for projects that
DCM has been directly responsible for. These include: the Fire Chief’s
Station Style Award, Chamber of Commerce Pride Awards, the Broward
County Beautification Awards, the Urban Forestry Certificate of
Excellence, the prestigious Roy F. Kenzie Award in the Capital
Projects/Beautification category for the ArtsPark at Young Circle and
the President's Award -- "best of the best" -- honoring the best
project overall across all categories. |
