Primary Election:

On February 8, 2000 a primary election was held in which all the Commission candidates from all six districts and the Mayoral candidates from at large ran. In addition, ballot questions were asked.

General Election:

A General election was held on March 14, 2000 for the top two Commission candidates who received a majority of the votes in their district.

As there were Commission candidates who received greater than the majority of the votes in their district at the Primary Election, they were elected and a general election was not held in that district.

Also, as the Mayoral candidate received the majority of the votes city wide, the Mayoral candidate was elected and a general election was not held.

Note: In the 2002 Referendum Election, the voters of Hollywood eliminated primary elections.
