These City Charter amendments would eliminate primary elections (commonly known as run-offs) for the offices of mayor and city commissioner, so that candidates for these offices would be elected at one election, either a regular general election or a special general election. The candidate receiving
the greatest number of votes, whether or not receiving a majority of the votes cast, would be declared elected.
