Referendum Election on November 2, 2004
On Tuesday, November 2, 2004, a referendum election will be held. Here is a brief description
and the ballot questions:
PROPOSITION I:
BONDS FOR PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS AND SPORTS FIELDS THROUGHOUT THE CITY AND FOR A SENIOR CENTER
Shall the City issue a maximum $23,700,000 in general obligation bonds to finance improvements to
parks, sports fields and playgrounds throughout the City and construction of a Senior Center,
such bonds bearing interest at an interest rate not to exceed the maximum legal rate, maturing
within 30 years, and being payable from ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable property in the
City, without limitation as to millage rate or amount?

PROPOSITION II:
BONDS FOR FIRE RESCUE AND PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT AND TECHNOLOGY UPGRADES
:
Shall the City issue a maximum $29,980,000 in general obligation bonds to finance acquisition and construction
of and improvements to fire rescue and public safety facilities, equipment and technology upgrades, such bonds
bearing interest at an interest rate not to exceed the maximum legal rate, maturing within 30 years, and being
payable from ad valorem taxes levied on all taxable property in the City, without limitation as to millage
rate or amount?
