Enterprise Zone Incentives for Development/Redevelopment
The City of Hollywood's Enterprise Zone was created in 2010 to offer financial incentives and stimulate redevelopment. An Enterprise Zone is a specific geographic area targeted for economic revitalization which encourages economic growth and investment in distressed areas by offering tax advantages and incentives to businesses and residents located within the zone boundaries.

Enterprise Zone Incentives and Forms
Jobs Tax Credit (Sales Tax):
Businesses located in the Enterprise Zone are eligible for up to a $1,500 tax credit per job created in new or existing businesses. Certain restrictions apply regarding the type of business and the minimum number of new employees hired. Credit may be taken in lieu of corporate income tax or sales and use tax.

Jobs Tax Credit (Corporate Income Tax):
Allows a business located within an Urban Enterprise Zone to take a corporate income tax credit for 20% or 30% of wages paid to new employees who reside within an enterprise zone.
Form F-1156Z
Sales Tax Refund for Business Machinery and Equipment:
This program offers a refund of 97% of the sales tax paid on the purchase of business machinery or equipment used to rehabilitate commercial property located in an Enterprise Zone. A maximum refund of $10,000 per purchase applies.
Form EZ-E
Building Materials Sales Tax Refund:
97% sales tax refund on the purchase of building materials
used to rehabilitate commercial and residential property located in an Enterprise Zone.
Residents: One-time minimum refund of at least $500 up to
a maximum refund of up to $5,000.
Business Owners: One-time minimum refund of at least $500
up to a maximum refund of up to $10,000 if at least 20% of the businesses' permanent,
full-time employees reside in an Enterprise Zone.
Form EZ-M
Community Contribution Tax Credit Program:
Allows businesses a 50% credit on Florida corporate income tax, insurance premium tax, or sales tax refund for donations made to local community development projects. Businesses are not required to be located in an enterprise zone to be eligible for this credit.
