The City of Hollywood has always listened to the voice of its residents. We care about matters that are
of importance to our residents and we are serious about improving their quality of life. After carefully
assessing the concerns brought forth by the community, the City of Hollywood realized that Hollywood
residents needed more than an occasional pothole fixed or a tree branch removed after a storm. In fact,
it was very clear that what residents really needed was more assistance in accessing already available
resources and services. In response to the community’s concern, the City of Hollywood hired a Social
Services Coordinator.
The City’s Mayor and Commissioners, who also share a genuine interest in the health and welfare
of its citizens, fully supported the development of a social services program because they too,
understand the importance of better access to services. It has always been the goal and intent of the
City of Hollywood, to ensure that citizens are heard, concerns and issues are properly dealt with, needs
are met, and our city is a great place in which to live and raise families.
The Social Services Coordinator, Barbara Lawson assists by making the connection between
residents and the agencies that provide needed services. Daily, we provide assistance to access
