Code Compliance
Our Mission
"Promoting compliance with City ordinances in order to preserve the quality of life for citizens, enhance the appearance of neighborhoods and sustain the tax base."

Organization of the Office
Code Compliance consists of Administrative Staff and Field Staff. Code Compliance Officers are assigned to geographic zones within the City and are responsible to investigate complaints and obtain compliance within their zone. When an issue is identified, Officers partner with other departments in a holistic approach and utilize all available resources to resolve the issue.

Administrative staff receive complaint information from the public and process case records generated by officers in the field. Special Magistrates, who are licensed attorneys, adjudicate cases that fail to come into voluntary compliance.
