Police Records
The mission of the records section is to provide record processing and retrieval services to law enforcement personnel and the citizens of the community in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
The Records Section of the Hollywood Police Department consists of three Units:
- The Records Unit, which provides records and retrieval services.
- The Case Filing Unit, which prepares all documents necessary for the presentation of cases for prosecution to the Broward State Attorney’s Office.
- The Data Entry Unit, which transcribes reports created by law enforcement personnel.
Fingerprinting Services
The records section provides fingerprinting services every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 10:30 am.
Fingerprint cards must be brought in by the requester.
- A local background check for incidents which occurred in the City of Hollywood is also available.
- Countywide background checks are available at 2600 Broward Boulevard, 954.831.8700.
- A Level II background check is available through the Federal Bureau of Investigations, 304.625.3878
- Full background checks for State of Florida are available through the State, 850.410.8109

Copies of all police reports and documents open to public access are available from the Records Section. There is a charge of 15 cents per page for copies of incident reports and 20 cents per page for accident reports. Local background checks are $11.00. Please allow 5 to 10 working days after an incident, arrest, or accident for processing before attempting to obtain a copy of a report.
