Pay Your Utility Bill



The Department of Public Utilities has been working hard to improve the utility billing process to enhance customer service.  As we transition to a new system, your utility bill will be modernized and streamlined to make it easier to read.  It will also include a billed usage graph to help you manage your water consumption and a QR image (Quick Response Code) to allow your smart phone to quickly access our new and enhanced online payment system.  The new billing system will offer customers easier, more convenient options for paying their bills faster and in a more secure environment.

The Department of Public Utilities has also revamped the customer service center.  There is a new customer service center phone number that will go into effect on December 26.  The number is 954.921.3938.  When you come to City Hall or contact us by phone, you will be speaking with members of our new customer service team.  These new team members are working hard to bring you the best service.  We would like to thank you in advance for your patience over the next few weeks as we make this transition.

What You Need To Know
From Tuesday, December 23 to Monday, January 5, the City of Hollywood Department of Public Utilities Customer Service Center will be operating in a limited capacity to allow for the transition to a new and improved utility billing system.  Due to the transition to a new utility billing system, your utility bill could be delayed by up to three weeks.  You will still have a full 21 days to pay your bill without incurring any penalties. 

Payment Options between December 23 and January 5
If you pay your bill online through the City of Hollywood’s online utility payment system, you will need to do so no later than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23.  No payments will be accepted through the City’s online payment system during the transition.

If you have automatic payments set up through your banking or financial institution, you will not need to make any changes and your payment will be processed when due as specified on your utility bill.  Please make sure you have the appropriate funds available in your bank account keeping in mind the processing of your payment may be delayed. 

If you pay your bill by mail, the transition to the new system will not affect your payment.  Please mail the full amount due along with your payment stub to the address indicated below.  A courtesy envelope is enclosed with your monthly bill.  Make your check or money order payable to the City of Hollywood and write your account number on the check/money order.  Do Not Send Cash.

If you pay your bill in person at City Hall cashiers will be available to accept your payment during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please keep in mind City Hall is closed on Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year.  Please bring your bill with you.

For your convenience the City accepts drive through payments from 7:30 a.m. to 4:55 p.m. Monday through Friday, and offers a 24-hr drop box located on the north side of City Hall in the drive through lane.  All drop box payments must be by check or money order only.  All cash and credit card payments must be made in person or via the drive through lane during normal business hours. 

If You Need to Start or Stop Service
If possible, please make plans to stop or start water/sewer service prior to Tuesday, December 23.  If you need to have existing service shut-off or new service connected during this transition period, you will need to come to City Hall during normal business hours  

Payment Options between now and December 23
Paying your monthly bill is easy. To make paying your bill as convenient as possible, the City offers a number of different payment options:

Pay Your Bill Online
Pay over the Internet using your credit card.
Registered Users: Click here to begin the payment process.    

  • New Users: You will need to register first. Please click here and type your water account number in the “Account ID” box. In the “PIN” box, please type the 10-digit temporary PIN located on the bottom left of your water bill (the part of the water bill that you keep for your records, see sample bill). When both numbers are typed in their respective boxes, click the “Sign-On” box.
    • You will be directed to the Account Registration Page. Please complete the form and enter a new PIN (one you choose for privacy and security purposes). Re-enter the new PIN for verification, enter a PIN HINT (something that will remind you of your PIN), and enter your email address (to receive a confirmation message). Click "Submit."
    • An e-mail verification will be sent to the e-mail address that you entered on the registration screen. This email contains your PIN, PIN HINT and a link for you to click on to complete the registration process. Please be sure to save this confirmation for future reference in the event you forget your PIN and PIN HINT.
    • Once you have successfully signed on with your new PIN, you will be asked to sign-on again and you can proceed to access and view or pay your utility account.

NOTE: In order to get same-day credit for your payment, you must complete the online payment process and finalize your transaction by Noon on weekdays. Also the City's internet site is unavailable to make online utility payments from 1:30 a.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday through Saturday due to system processing and maintenance requirements. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Pay Your Bill Automatically by Direct Debit  
  • Pay your bill automatically each month by direct debit from your checking account. Download, complete and submit the Direct Debit Enrollment Form and a voided check to: Treasury Division - Enrollment, P.O. Box 229045, Hollywood, Florida 33022-9045. You can also drop the form off at the Cashiers window in Room 103, City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd., or put it in the night payment drop box next to the Cashiers drive-thru window.
  • The City will send you your monthly bill showing the usual billing information, as well as the amount of the payment that will be automatically deducted from your checking account on the payment due date.
  • You will have time to review your bill and ask questions before the amount owed is deducted from your checking account. You will have five working days prior to the payment due date - to stop the automatic payment, if necessary.
  • The withdrawal from your checking account will appear on your next bank statement.
  • Should you have any questions related to enrolling in the City's direct debit payment program, please call 954.921.3241 (or 954.921.3938 on or after December 26)
    NOTE: Please continue to pay your monthly bill as you normally would until you see the words "Amount Due Will be Bank Drafted" printed on your bill next to the amount of the bill (this takes one to two billing cycles after you enroll). Again, the payment will not be deducted from your checking account until the due date shown on the bill.

    Pay by Mail      
    • Mail full payment of the amount due along with your payment stub to the address indicated below. A courtesy envelope is enclosed with your monthly bill for your convenience. Please make your check or money order payable to the City of Hollywood and write your account number on the face of the check/money order. Do Not Send Cash.

    NOTE: Payment of your utility bill is due by the date indicated on your bill.

    Misplaced or Didn't Receive Your Bill?

    Register so that you can view your utility bill online and simply print out a copy of your bill and send it along with your payment to the above mailing address.
