The Department of Community and Economic Development would like to thank the residents who have expressed an on-going interest in the planned Adams Street Redevelopment project. The city is committed to redeveloping the seven acres of publicly owned property at the 2100 block of Adams Street between Dixie Highway and 24 Avenue into affordable housing and appropriate mixed uses.
The city received considerable feedback from the community regarding homeownership in the area during a July 17 meeting about the project. As such, the city and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) are working with the developer to modify the project schedule and evaluate financing options that could help us realize the community's desire for homeownership. In the development process, the real estate use (i.e. rental vs. homeownership, commercial, recreational) is defined ahead of creating the design.
To ensure that residents are aware of the schedule updates, the Department of Community and Economic Development will update the city's calendar of events, e-mail attendees from the July 17 meeting, individuals on the department's Highland Gardens contact list, and distribute flyers in local schools and community centers.
We value your time and interest in this development and appreciate your continued passion as we work collectively to develop a feasible project that makes all of us proud.
