Meet Public Affairs Director Raelin Storey
Raelin StoreyRaelin Storey joined the City of Hollywood as the Director of Public Affairs in June of 2007 after a career as an award-winning journalist working in both print and television newsrooms. Ms. Storey became the first television journalist to join the South Florida Sun-Sentinel bringing the newspaper's investigative and daily news stories to its partners in television and radio. She was an anchor/reporter at major market television stations in Orlando, Florida and St. Paul/Minneapolis, Minnesota serving as the weekend anchor at WFTV in Orlando and anchoring the morning news for KSTP in the Twin Cities.

The Office of Public Affairs is located within the Office of the City Manager. The Office includes a Director, a Public Information Manager, two Video Production Specialists, an Administrative Assistant and a part-time Public Relations and Design Coordinator.  As Director, Raelin Storey oversees and manages all of the City’s communications and marketing programs including media relations, public relations, publications, video production, the City’s website, social media outlets and government access cable channels. Additionally, the Office works to promote the film industry in Hollywood by facilitating location requests and film permitting. As the City’s primary Public Information Officer, Ms. Storey provides support and oversight to both the Police Department and Fire/Rescue Department personnel who serve as Public Information Officers for those agencies.

The Office initiated the City’s first ever Communications Plan, manages information outreach campaigns for City programs and services, assists with the oversight of the Help Me Hollywood citizen service request system, and coordinates content and management of the City’s website with the Department of Information Technology to maximize website management efficiency.

She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Florida Government Communicators Association. She and her husband live in Hollywood with their two children.
