Deceased Animal Removal

For removal of dead animals from the City right of ways or swales please contact the Public Works Department at 954.967.4526. This service is no longer provided by the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division. Note: removal of dead animals from private property is the responsibility of the property owner.

For Sick or Injured Animals 

Please contact Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division at 954.359.1313 or the Hollywood Police Department non-emergency number at 954.967.HELP (4357).  After business hours (5 p.m. – 8 a.m.) please contact the Broward County Sheriff Office Call Center at 954.765.5124.

For Sick, Injured or Orphaned Wildlife

Please contact the South Florida Wildlife Center (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) at 954-524-4302.

Street Light Outages

To report a problem with street lights, contact Public Works at 954.967.4526 and give us information on the location and fault. If possible, you should include the number on the front of the street light column.

The Public Works Department also oversees residential garbage and recyclables collection services, bulky waste and yard waste collection services, Operation Paintbrush, and commercial garbage collection services.

The department’s table of organization is comprised of the following major divisions:

Within each of these divisions are several programs tasked with specific areas of responsibility within their specialties.

Operation Paintbrush!

This operation has officially moved to a new location and has a brand new schedule.  Paint distribution will now take place at 1600 S. Park Road.   Paint is available the second Saturday in January, April, July & October from 8 am until noon.  This popular program is stocked and ready for city residents to participate.  The program provides up to 20 gallons of high quality recycled exterior latex paint to single-family homeowners who provide their driver’s license and a current utility bill as proof of residency in the City of Hollywood. The paint colors currently being offered are off white, beige, terracotta, gray, and turquoise. Please contact us at 954.967.4526 for additional information. 

Please Note: This is not a paint drop off site.  You must dispose of your old paint at the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Residential Drop Off facility located at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard on Saturdays only from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
